Ted Cruz (R-Texas)won the Guam caucus on Saturday, defeating his rivals Donald Trump, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
During the caucus hosted in Tumon, about 350 members selected the partys delegates to attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, this summer.
The Republican Party of Guam will have nine delegates, as well as six alternatives.
Guam is an American territory located in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. It has a population of more than 170,000 people. Like citizens of American Samoa, Guam citizens cannot vote in the general presidential election in November.
On Wednesday, GOP front-runner Donald Trump released a statement asking for Guams votes and pledged increased attention to territorial issues.

“This is consistent with the pattern.
Ted Cruz scores highly in caucuses.”
Where cheating is met with a wink & nod.
I find the repeated reference to Hank Johnson and his tasteless joke to be extremely offensive
Maybe your state will expire when it is hit by a meteor. I’ll laugh as my island doesn’t turn over
As I understand it: Guam delegates can run as bound OR unbound. The “Cruz” delegates are Cruz delegates because they are running as bound, and so they do actually qualify. The Virgin Islands’ winning slate ran as unbound, so don’t qualify towards Rule 40. In any extent, I think it’s safe to say that Cruz and Trump, and barring some weird shift in the basic dynamics of the race, ONLY Cruz and Trump will qualify for Rule 40; ob
Right on sister. Kutztown Pennsylvania spits on your non-existence. We gots funnel cakes and birch beer.
Nobody is making fun of Guam, we’re making fun of Hank Johnson because he was NOT joking.
Love,
O2
If true then Guam isn't a qualifying state. Cruz needs 5 bound delegates to have a majority of the 9 total delegates. This says he only got 1 bound.
Idaho was also an exception in terms of an actual Primary Vote:
Cruz - 100,942 - 46.89%
Trump -62,478 - 29.02%
Rubio - 35,347 - 16.42%
Kasich- 16,517 — 7.67%
This weekend, Cruz picked up Wyoming and Guam, while Rubio picked up Washington DC
Right Scoop: Cruz Landslide in Guam. Boom!!!!
Thanks.
Tuesday, should be interesting.
Yes it will be. I still believe that if trump wins Florida and Ohio, it will essentially be over.
Cruz may stay in and amass a god number of delegates. But I do not believe he will be able to either overtake Trump,, or be able to keep him from getting the necessary delegates to win the nomination.
Rubio and Kasich will be done after Tuesday if both Florida and Ohio go to Trump.
And the left is pulling out the stops...they are infiltrating the Trump rallies now with radicals of all sorts. Black Lives Matter and worse in Chicago. The guy that rushed the stage in Dayton has connections to BLM and also to ISIS.
And the DNC and MSM are giving these radicals covering fire trying to blame it on Trump.
But Trump is calling it what it is.
Birch beer. Yum! Best soda ever.

I sincerely hope that no one here takes that seriously.
Grow up.
You’re post was a list of states won by each candidate.
Cruz did not get Virgin Islands unless the person who got it was working for him.

Okay, I’ll take VI off of the Cruz non-qualifying win list and add it to the unbound list.
Please Please give me a brokered Convention.
It will be the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH. Like 4 Super Bowls in a row. Commercials will be running 3x the Super Bowl price. Everybody will make money and Trump will get 24/7 publicity for free.
AND then he will win the WH.
But alas, the people will give Trump the winner take all states and that will be that.
That’s correct. I meant only that it had the potential to qualify.
While I agree it would be a great show, it’s not worth risking the Presidency. We need to lock this up at the earliest opportunity.
