I’m thinking it’s ambition.
Rusty, please don’t feel too much disappointment in your fellow Cruz supporters.
We all know how partizan leftists can get. While they are far worse than us, human nature is what it is.
I’ve seen conservatives get whipped up on the wrong side time and again. For example, some tried to use a contorted definition to call gun grabbers ‘terrorists’. A few had called for militia uprisings, survivalism, EMP scares, etc.
Remember the Y2K fiasco? Prophets of doom who I tried to temporize. They refused to listen.
I caught myself getting sucked in too once in a while. Insisted on really foolish things. But I try to make myself eat crow. Just like you did.
It takes inner strength, and most people have a really hard time doing it.
Is Cruz really so politically inept to not understand that he cost himself any chance at national officer ever? He had a chance to stand up to the radical left and didn’t. It won’t be forgotten.
Again, why? Is he compromised in some way? Or has the Establishment promised him a golden parachute? Or did ambition get the better of him? I don’t get it.
Cruz is mainstreaming himself and trying to go after the anti-Trump vote. Conservatives are dead to him He says a maximalist position when the lights are on figuring he can walk it back later and his porch conservatives will stay on the Cruz plantation. IF they don’t as Captain of the Anti-Trump campaign he really doesn’t care.
