Cruz did NOT blame Donald Trump.
Trump certainly has the right to have his rally unencumbered. Equally, the protesters have every right to show up and protest just about as loudly and obnoxiously as they like — as long as it’s peaceful and they don’t try to disrupt.
Now, I will say that I think Trump selected a place for the event that was probably unwise. Another location might have reduced this problem. Having it on the college campus made it way too easy for the protesters to do what they do.
A lot of violence seems to follow Trump. He has personally threatened demonstrators and asked his supporters to punch them out. His campaign manager attacked a reporter simply for asking a question. His supporters have violently attacked minority protesters. But somehow, that has nothing to do with him.
So you can say that something about his campaign is fostering such an environment.
Amazing how well you can parrot misleading headlines.
good grief. Not sure what your agenda or angle is but to say “campaign manager attacked a reporter simply for asking a question” is absurd. isn’t there a speech that might be micro-aggressively offensive down at your local college that you should be going to shut down tonight?
And yes, Cruz DID blame Donald Trump. If you watched the entire impromptu press conference, you’d have seen he went out of his way to repeatly assert a talking point that this was the result of the Trump campaign’s tone.
He also said something about destroying US consulates in the Middle East because of youtube videos
Cruz did too blame Donald Trump. In his slick, snake-like, lawyer talk he laid the blame at Trump’s feet. And its BS!
That was an organized, planned, rally not some spontaneous uprising and Cruz was obviously in on it.
Because that would have been indefensible, vile, cynical, beneath contempt, and a reason to forfeit his presidential bid. Correct? If Cruz had blamed Donald Trump?
