You are pissing in the wind. Trump supporters enjoy attacking others too much to listen to reason. There was a time Ted Cruz was admired on FR for standing for conservative principles, while Trump was kissing Obama’s butt - and Hillary’s, and DeBlasio’s. He still is defending conservative thought. There are just a lot fewer “conservatives” thinking.
Nothing....NOTHING....Cruz said attempted to defuse the situation. If anything, he enflamed it and tried to use it to his own advantage.
Now he has to deal with it.
