Cruz: Trump Is Manipulating 'Low-Information' Voters

Ted Cruz accused Republican front-runner Donald Trump of taking advantage of 'angry, low-information voters.'

“Listen, Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry and they see him as an angry voice,” Cruz told “The Brody File” in an interview conducted Wednesday and published Thursday.

Cruz, who has racked up wins in Idaho, Maine and Kansas in the past week, said his campaign performs better among informed, engaged voters.

“When they inform themselves, they realize his record,” Cruz said. “He’s what they’re angry at. He is the corruption, and if you want someone to stand up to Washington, the only one who has been doing so in this race is me.”

The Texas senator acknowledged Trump has done well in Southeastern states — he’s won Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. But Cruz said his campaign has done well in that pocket of the country, too, often coming in second to the New York billionaire but still picking up delegates.

“Now Donald has a harder problem in the West,” Cruz said. “It’s interesting. I mean, his location, he does well in the Southeast. He does well with a certain demographic of voter. Donald gave a press conference where he said, to quote him, ‘I love the poorly educated.’” Cruz suggested Trump is “taking advantage of his voters because” they’re angry. “I understand what they’re angry about, but, Donald, if you’re angry at the corruption of Washington, you don’t solve it by supporting someone who has been enmeshed in the Washington corruption for 40 years,” he said.

And that’s just as silly as the rest of the anti-Trump stuff.

Nothing Trump says is “transparent pablum.” This is more projection by Cruz voters.

The fact is that ALL voting is by faith. Since the person hasn’t served, we cannot know for sure what he will do. It’s taken on faith. In the case of Cruz, we have great words-—but as a senator, absolutely zero track record to suggest he can accomplish anything. I believe he wants to, but I think he lacks the ability and power.

With Trump, he says he’ll build the wall. Most supporters believe him. It isn’t “pablum.” This is something very simple, and FUNDED and that’s why it is so darn ridiculous. All it requires is just a LITTLE commitment and it would be done. So Trump supporters think that since he has built things far more impressive, he can do this. Yes, it’s faith, but at least he has SOME track record of doing what he says he wants to do. Cruz has votes that went AGAINST what we wanted him to do and those are excused.

Now, I do not call Cruz supporters stupid, nor do I think they “don’t understand what they are doing.” They are making rational calculations based on the elements they find most reliable (Cruz’s long personal history of conservatism, for example). So it’s irritating as hell to constantly have the Cruzers claim Trump supporters are hornswoggled, or are stupid or “desperate enough” to believe stuff for no reason. We have very good reasons.

You would do well to start engaging people on that level.

It will be a joyful day when Muslims level Harvard.
Joyful, joyful, a joyful day filled with frivolity.

In the Texas prez primary, Cruz did not do as well as expected even w/ Texas Gov Abbott running the show. Cruz didn’t even come close to winning a majority in Texas. He would have gotten a lot more delegates if he had.

Cruz got 1,239,370 votes but that/s only 44% of the vote---he would have needed to reach 50% to get every delegate according to Texas/ convoluted rules. He got 102 delegates.

Donald Trump got 757,618 votes....27% of the vote....he got 47 delegates. Rubio got 502,223 votes....that/s 18% ...he ended up w/ 3 Texas delegates.

Cruz spent a bundle but came away looking like a reject.

That could be, we will see. I suspect that Ted Bush probably won’t be a Senator anymore after January 2019 unless he goes back to Calgary and runs there.

Cruz musta thought Texans were a bunch of know-nothings....said he busted the piggy bank to fund his come from behind win in the Senate race. Cruz/s "me and the wifey busted the piggy bank" story stunk to high heaven from the get go...like everyman has a million dollars laying around in a piggy bank. BTW, Ted were those bank loans properly collaterized?

Now he/s balking at orders from the FEC tht he report ---at long last---details of the bank loans. Cruz had an obvious motive for not fully reporting Goldman Sachs and Citibank loans in 2012 at a time he was billing himself as an anti-establishment crusader. He was railing against the fat cats claiming only he was the populist.

======================================

In Texas, Cruz/s Senate election fairy tale has become legendary......portraying himself to trusting Texans as a scrappy populist putting everything on the line to overcome a wealthy establishment opponent.

He was whining in the media, telling trusting Texans that he, and his faithful little wife (a $700,000 globalist lawyer employed by G/S), were forced to liquidate their entire family savings (of slightly more than $1 million) to fuel a come-from-behind win in the Republican primary.

NOW TEXANS LEARN Cruz did not liquidate family assets.....he got his hands on over a million dollars from his hefty margin accounts at G/S and Citibank......and did not disclose this on FEC reports (to keep it a secret from Texans).

Cruz did not disclose loans on FEC reports (required by law) b/c Texans would have discovered he was not the aw-shucks rube he pretended to be. He continued the rube act in order to milk votes from Texans.

At the same time, he also did not disclose he was a Canadian citizen......the Harvard-educated lawyer w/ two Ivy League degrees said he didn/t know.

When the Dallas Morning News published Cruz/s Canadian birth certificate, Cruz put Texans through the charade of renouncing his Canadian citizenship.....even though Canada did not recognize dual citizenship at the time of his birth.

A man complaining when a certain message is preached is like throwing a rock into a pack of dogs. The one that yelps is the one that got hit.

LOL.

Cruz would be wise to stop making generalizations and slurs. It is not helping him. First he states that “we all know what kind of values the people of NY have.” Then he makes an Italian slur regarding Pagliano receiving immunity. Now he is saying that Trump supporters are low-info people. In a race where the stakes are ginormous he needs to think before he speaks about entire blocks of people.

When the back stories of this Republican Primary season are written, the greatest untold story will be how Trump pulled the all time greatest Jedi Mind Trick on Ted Bush. Knowing that Ted Bush will spew what he is fed, with the cadence of a televangelist Ron Burgundy, Trump operatives have skillfully penetrated, yes penetrated, the Ted Bush campaign. These operatives have slyly fed Ted Bush numerous self-destructive statements. What no one could’ve anticipated was the holy passion with which Ted Bush would deliver the lines that would truly do him in.

Not only have Ted’s imperial dreams been lost by his undoing, but also the dreams of his core voters. Alas, America will go on with legalized purchases of alcohol, casinos will remain open, and Americans will purchase and smoke cigarettes. Sex will take place outside the missionary position and without the use of magic underwear. What’s worse, while Ted’s voters lament the control of America’s collective personal life slipping out of their grasp, Ted Bush’s donor class laments end of the cheap labor and product dumping trade policies they had paid good money to save. The deposits were paid and the checks had cleared, but all of it lost because of a Jedi named Trump.

Calgary Ted is manipulating voters with so little information they think Cruz might be able to serve as a legitimate President!

If true this can only be a win/win. After Trump gets done, they will no longer be low-information and hopefully educated to conservative views. Yay!
