Good job defending the homestead and for the parents teaching him how to handle a gun.
A brave 13-year-old Ladson boy fended off two hardened felons who were attempting to break into his house by using his mothers gun to protect himself while home alone.
The boy saw the men breaking into the back of his home, at which time he feared for his safety and grabbed his mothers gun, the document states. He began firing at them, and the Sheriffs office reported that they returned fire.
In a heated shootout, he shot Brown three times, and Bennett drove him to the hospital where he later died. The gray Chevy Sonic they were driving had bullet holes in it from the boy chasing them, the affidavit states.
Where is the media coverage of this brave young man. Without the protection of his mothers gun the boy, and probably his mother when she got home, would both be dead.
Guns Reports:
Two convicted felons intent on breaking into a Ladson, South Carolina, home last week were met with surprise when they came face to face with 13-year-old armed with a gun.

Priceless!
An adult would likely be charged for shooting at fleeing suspects, but this young man has the advantage of citing fear and emotion....and...well....youth!
People...I hate to admit this, but right now is the first I noticed the DATE in the title....I only referenced rest of it...(I’m embarrassed)
In a “heated” gun battle, almost nobody gets shot because emotions cloud the aim and the steadiness of the arm and hand. This young man stayed cool.
Some kids don't yet know fear.
You really have to be damned careful with 13 year olds these days. Their first person shooter video games give them -extensive- training. He probably has more actual trigger time than the average Delta guy.
The simulator training makes some scary damn kids. They are coasting on autopilot.
They come in 9, 40, and 45.
Of course these minor drug convictions are overrated. Just smokin’ and selling a little weed, crack, heroin and ecstasy, that’s all.

Another example of “white privilege”...owning a gun and having an education on how to use it!
he’s a kid
any urban black kid will tell you the kid goes free..... he’s a kid
It’s not just kids. If you play enough FPS, it’s not unusual, on entering a room, to find yourself checking for the best firing lines, defenses, and opponents. Been there, done that. LOL

“first person shooter video games”
No replacement for range time.
“...having an education on how to use it...”
By education, that should include knowing to hold it with the sights upright / vertical with both hands rather than “gansta style” (one hand with the sights horizontal).
If those dumbass gang banging turds knew just that fact alone would cut the deaths of innocent bystander by half.
Bunch of dumb, feral monkeys.
I suspect the picture to have been fabricated for the blog the post is from. I have been unable to track it back to the original story, where the young man is described as “shy”.
If any can show the origin of the image, it would be nice if it were actually the young man in the story.
Unfortunately, I believe it is simply a posed photo of another young man.
I suspect you’re right. Mom said he wants to avoid publicity, said she didn’t teach him handgun fundamentals. Wonder about that, but maybe a smart thing to tell the press. But those would argue against making him available for a photo op.
It was his gat mitzvah!
Should have killed both. They were convicted felons so under Obama/DOJ’s policies, the should be allowed to vote as part of their “restorative justice” program.
Well, at least one of them won’t be voting unless someone forge’s his name.
True.
