Watch Donald Trump Completely Crush Ted Cruz in Mere Seconds
Mediaite ^ | 11 Mar 2016 | Tommy Christopher

There are only a few days left for Republican bed-wetters to stop Donald Trump from steamrolling his way to the presidential nomination via Florida and Ohio, and if Thursday night’s CNN Republican Presidential Debate is any indication, it’s not gonna happen. There was one moment that went largely unnoticed, though, and it perfectly demonstrates why he’s winning.

It came about an hour into the debate, as Ted Cruz was launching into one of his patented Eighth-Grader-Reciting-His-Book-Report-As-Though-It’s-A-Shakespeare-Sonnet routines about how ideologically immune he is to special interests, a linchpin of his appeal, when Trump casually destroyed him. The key here is not what Trump said, but the way Cruz literally throws up his arms in surrender when he’s done:

CRUZ: When I went to Iowa and campaigned against ethanol mandates, everyone said that was political suicide. You can’t take on ethanol in Iowa. And my opponents on this stage not only didn’t do the same. They attacked me and even promised to expand corporate welfare. If we’re going to stop bankrupting our kids and grandkids, you’ve got to be willing to take on the lobbyists…

TRUMP: … if you look back to Iowa, Ted did change his view and his stance on ethanol quite a bit. He did and — at the end. Not full on, but he did change his view in the hopes of maybe doing well. And you know, I think everybody knows that. It was a front page story all over the place, and he did make a change.

BASH: Senator Cruz?

I’ve always had a problem with his speaking style. It’s one of the reasons I don’t like him. It’s too bad because I really wanted to like him as a candidate.

Cruz changes in minutes for expedience. Trump has evolved over years. But twist it as you will.

Trump went from opposing ethanol subsidies in Iowa to supporting and suggesting they should be expanded. This year. Spin that as you will, if you want to try to be honest about it. For me that was Trump's worst moment in the campaign because his message is "I can't be bought, the special interests don't own me" and he caved to them in the FIRST state.

The key is bashed, conservatives use rationale, liberals bash. It is an open to the public site.

Lots of ADD and Socialist sheeple thinking being displayed! Vaccines destroy people’s ability to reason I suspect.

Alas Babylon...

If Trump is not beaten back, it is a massive defeat for the country’s longstanding Judeo-Christian values.

So now the latest desperation move by the Cruz camp in FR is "Trump is the Devil"?

Trump has only ever said the Iran deal is bad and something he would have never done.

HOWEVER, Trump flat out refuses to say he will tear up the deal.

Everytime Cruz says he will tear it up on day 1, all Trump says it’s a bad deal and I hate it, but gives nothing about what he would do with it.

Trump obviously would keep the bad deal.

Cruz would burn the bad deal.

It is painful. What makes it worse is that he so obviously considers it the acme of rhetorical excellence.

The primary is traditionally a time where you consolidate your base.

I don’t see that happening for any of the candidates.
In fact, trump has managed to alienate many of the conservatives. His supporter’s rabid devotion and vitriolic episodes of inane name calling has pushed away people he’ll need in the general.

Should he become the nominee, when things get hot in August and September those who would defend him will stand on the sidelines and shake our heads when he gets exposed by the liberal media for who he is. We won’t be cheering for the libs, we’ll be commiserating that they are actually pointing out what we’ve known for a long time.

He’ll still have his rabid fan base, no doubt about that. The enmity that has developed over the last few months won’t evaporate either. Don’t expect this forum to be as gaga about trump as his current supporters are.

Try refutation instead of slander someday and you might discover that political issues are a bit more complex than a phone deep.

I’d vote for him if he took an oath that he would.

You know he won't, however;

You will be happy to vote for him in 2020, medications or not.

Yes they sure don’t make Freepers like they used to. There was a time people would get banned for coming on and ranting and raving like lunatic liberals.

I’ve seen so many ad hominem attacks on here it makes me want to vomit.

Hey JimRob! What the hell is going on in here?

Oh stop. Last night you know Cruz lied especially when he said trump is for the Iran deal. Every function trump has he says he hates it. Cruz at least can’t be obvious with his lies.

I never claimed to be ‘snow white pure’.

I have also never taken money from a poor person by holding out hope that they might get rich.

His voting record and his history along with his platform make him a Constitutionalist, your fingers in your ears cannot change that. The fact that you are voting for another lying leftist will not change reality either.

It’s gonna bite you in the ass, again. Children should not be allowed to play with guns.

So, now you’re comparing Cruz with Jesus? Typical, although his father thinks so too.

“Cruz is status quo and it’s painfully obvious.”

You are truly oblivious. Maybe I can see you a bridge in Brooklyn or Trump Towers.

LOL!

I sense that the Democrats have invaded the site and are trolling for Trump. In the past, we were invaded by the “Don’t vote for the Republican because he is not perfect” crowd (i.e., the circular firing squad. That is what got us Obama and may get us Hillary!
