Watch Donald Trump Completely Crush Ted Cruz in Mere Seconds
Mediaite ^ | 11 Mar 2016 | Tommy Christopher

There are only a few days left for Republican bed-wetters to stop Donald Trump from steamrolling his way to the presidential nomination via Florida and Ohio, and if Thursday night’s CNN Republican Presidential Debate is any indication, it’s not gonna happen. There was one moment that went largely unnoticed, though, and it perfectly demonstrates why he’s winning.

It came about an hour into the debate, as Ted Cruz was launching into one of his patented Eighth-Grader-Reciting-His-Book-Report-As-Though-It’s-A-Shakespeare-Sonnet routines about how ideologically immune he is to special interests, a linchpin of his appeal, when Trump casually destroyed him. The key here is not what Trump said, but the way Cruz literally throws up his arms in surrender when he’s done:

CRUZ: When I went to Iowa and campaigned against ethanol mandates, everyone said that was political suicide. You can’t take on ethanol in Iowa. And my opponents on this stage not only didn’t do the same. They attacked me and even promised to expand corporate welfare. If we’re going to stop bankrupting our kids and grandkids, you’ve got to be willing to take on the lobbyists…

TRUMP: … if you look back to Iowa, Ted did change his view and his stance on ethanol quite a bit. He did and — at the end. Not full on, but he did change his view in the hopes of maybe doing well. And you know, I think everybody knows that. It was a front page story all over the place, and he did make a change.

BASH: Senator Cruz?

This just in from Tommy “I Hate Cruz” Christopher:
“Trump Mops floor with Cruz! Utterly decimates him! Cruz needs to get out now before he embarrasses himself further! I honestly felt shame for him. He was so pathetic, he should really drop out of the race, just move back to Cuba or Canada or wherever the hell he’s from. He’s not American, and probably funneling money to Cuba, Canada or some other communist America-hating country. I think Cruz started to cry during one of his marathon, cringe-inducing pauses. YES! Cruz starts crying!! I’m changing the headline to ‘Perfect No-Flaw Trump makes bedwetting, Cunadian Cruz cry in debate’.
Everyone knows Supergod Trump will never make a mistake in office or do anything anti-conservative, and he showed this by humiliating and blasting Cruz back to Canada, eh. Cruz isn’t even eligible to be prez and Trump SMOKED him. All praise The Don!!
signed, Tommy C.

I note yor intimate familiarity with a liberal’s mind. How is it in there, anyway?

It is really sad to see what Free Republic has become over the past few months - an abusive, liberal loving, blowhard defending Trump echo chamber. I suspect it to be organized and pagid for. At least it ought to end when Trump gets back to real estate this summer.

That’s ridiculous. Trump in no way “crushed” Cruz on ethanol. Cruz has always favored phasing out the RFS mandates. He opposes any mandates or subsidies for any particular forms of energy.

By pandering to the ethanol lobby and the Iowa governor, Trump showed just how comfortable he is with crony capitalism, and how easily manipulated he can be when it is to his political advantage. Cruz was the ONLY one who did not pander to the ethanol lobby. Geez.

Check out Hillary's first ad she'll be running against Donald Trump & his changing views.

Short 2:27 of Trump's ever-changing views on many topics.

Watch and see what Hillary & the Dems are going to throw at Trump.

Trump changing views good.

Cruz changing views bad.

...got it.

“Ted was way off his game.”

I think what happened is that Rubio realized that Trump was right - that some people could attack others and get away with it, and some couldn’t... and Rubio is in the “couldn’t” column. When Rubio reigned in the attacks, Cruz could neither tag team with him in attacking Trump, or stand off to one side, pretending to be “the adult in the room” and above it all. All he had left, then, were his pre-scripted responses and charming personality.

As demonstrated by Drudge this morning more clearly than ever, underneath the Trump support is an anti-Christian religious bigotry that comes straight out of the left’s mindset. People are now saying religion needs to be “kept in the closet,” even while the country is forcing us to publically embrace homosexuality.

If Trump is not beaten back, it is a massive defeat for the country’s longstanding Judeo-Christian values. We will continue the march to an atheistic European-style socialism even more quickly.

I just assumed that Cruz’s position on ethanol was based on his addiction to Texas Tea dough. Am I wrong?

Ted Cruz calling himself a “Constitutional Conservative” and flim-flamming the rubes along the way is quite the trick.

Cruz won the debate and the nomination last night. He was absolutely outstanding and showed he is the only on stage prepared to handle the presidency and actually reverse the momentum of Obama’s policies. Trump and Kasich were both advancing the liberal, socialist agenda in lockstep with much of Obama’s policy.

Best line of the night.

CRUZ: Washington isn't listening to the people. And that's the frustration that is boiling over. And we need to nominate and elects a president who remembers, he works for the people. You know, at Donald's rallies recently, he's taken to asking people in the crowd to raise their hand and pledge their support to him.

Now, I got to say to me, I think that's exactly backwards. This is a job interview. We are here pledging our support to you, not the other way around.

(APPLAUSE)

CRUZ: And the only hand raising I'm interested in doing is on January 20, 2017 raising my hand with my left hand on the...

(BELL RINGS)

... bible and pledging to the American people to preserve, protect and defend the constitution of United States.

Man, is Ted phony. I’m sorry, Cruzers, but you might be blind. Sure, Trump is brash and bold. But he’s real and pretty honest. And he has social skills and can be very kind. Cruz just misses all social marks, and doesn’t see how unctuous and smarmy he comes off, consistently. It’s so fake. And he lies about things that can be refuted on your phone before the sentence is finished.

Every time Cruz starts out a statement with either “look” or “listen”, I bristle. I don’t like being talked down to, and that’s exactly what Cruz does.

I thought this was a conservative web-site,
Let's all sit in a circle cross legged, hold hands and sing Kumbaya.
Ted Cruz is a Constitutional conservative.
Only in yours and his minds. Just saying it (over and over) doesn't make it so.

“the obvious fact should be pointed out that Trump “changed” pretty much every hardcore left-wing position he ever held during his adult lifetime in order to run for president as a Republican.”

My question is, did he really hold those leftist positions, or was he just going along to get along? After all, he had to associate with corrupt politicians (which is to say, demonrats)to get his business done.

I think this is the first time that he has been listening to anyone other than the drooling morons of the left. I think, or maybe I should say “hope,” that there is some actual intellectual growth going on.

Did I say “hope?” I’m going to cast my vote on the hope that this one man, of all the candidates, is not a totally amoral, evil, backstabbing politician?

Well, we know that all the other candidates will stab us in the back so quickly we won’t even hear the dagger come out. One little straw of forlorn hope is all we have.

What happened that will change things?

The republican tent will become larger. After the battles of the past between the two, people will see that Trump is a uniter. Carson will be able to influence a lot of black voters to join the republican party. Carson says that he and Trump have similar Christian beliefs.

If you can’t see that Carson helps Trump become our nominee, you’re blind. (And I don’t think you’re blind).
