The Donald Trump supporter who was caught on tape sucker-punching a black protester during a Wednesday night rally said "Next time, we might have to kill him." Inside Edition tracked down John McGraw, 78, who was later charged with assault and battery for the incident, and he was boastful of his violent act: "You bet I liked it. Knocking the hell out of that big mouth," he said of punching 26-year-old Rakeem Jones. Asked why he chose to throw a punch, McGraw, said, "We don’t know if he’s ISIS. We don’t know who he is, but we know he’s not acting like an American, cussing me. If he wants it laid out, I laid it out." And on whether Jones deserved to be hit, McGraw declared, "Yes, he deserved it. The next time we see him, we might have to kill him. We don’t know who he is. He might be with a terrorist."

Brilliant! Well no, not really, takes a lot of courage to sucker punch someone, he sounds like a class act, the C&L are superfluous. I bet there are gonna be a whole bunch of freepers that have a completely different opinion of this guy than the Blacks that play the Knockout game.
He wasn't defending himself. The idiot protester was being marched out of the building. The idiot Trump supporter (not an indictment of Trump - that's just what the guy was) sucker-punched him (or sucker-elbowed him, to be more accurate.) The protester was no threat - security was leading him out, and he was leaving.
According to this link, McGraw was later charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct. That seems appropriate to me.
I should have been more clear - I meant in the case that the man McGraw assaulted came looking for revenge. I concur with your description of the initial incident.

How can anyone defend the old man's latest comments? Shoot a citizen because he "might be a terrorist"? Strikes me as a comment from a typical "low information" voter.
