Trump's rough handling of rally dissenters stirs questions

To Rakeem Jones, flanked on all sides by uniformed sheriff's deputies, it was more than just the shock of being ejected from a political rally for Donald Trump. The black man felt as if he was being transported back in time.

"It's not the America they portray on TV," the 26-year-old said, the day after he was wrestled to the ground by officers and punched in the face during the campaign event in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

But to friend Ronnie Rouse, who caught the incident on video, it was "totally American."

"This is the America everybody wants to ignore," the music producer told The Associated Press Thursday. "This is the America, when people tell you, 'Oh, racism doesn't exist.' It's here."

What should we make of scenes like this Wednesday evening at Crown Coliseum?

They have become a regular thing at Trump rallies, and while security experts say Trump has every right to quash dissent at events he's paying for, they say the Republican front-runner is playing with fire by not tamping down uncivil behavior and assault.

"I would go so far as to say that I find that abhorrent," security consultant Stan Kephart, a former police chief in Arizona and California, says of Trump's failure to call out his pugnacious followers. "To me, he's pressing the line. He's doing things that you would see a showman do."

What's Trump's attitude about all of this?

>>the exception of their rights.
They have to use it to defend themselves, but never recognize it to defend anyone else.

Agree. It’s their S.O.P.

They also use it for leverage.

The ACLU is brilliant at creating rights from nothing, using the Constitution as leverage.

A protest area is always set up for these agitators. Yet they disrupt a private event.

These guys are paid to provoke and disrupt, get on TV.

Then cry “Racist” when they’re kicked out.

SOP for dems, and communists.

He felt so bad he was flipping off and taunting the crowd

Imagine a white man doing that in a black crowd

Anyone remember the old Tarzan movies where they tied the hapless white hunter between the bent bamboo trees and then sprung them?

It’d be like that

This is very true. They use whatever tools are available to work FOR them and AGAINST liberty.

Do you know what this reminds me of? I find it eerily similar to what the Muzzies say they do: “Use their own words and laws against them until we win”. They are doing it successfully in Europe and here as well.

What a stupid Headline - making it sound like Trump ‘himself’ was the one who threw the protester out *eye roll*

Being a thug is only acceptable if you’re a Leftist thug. If a Leftist thug attacks you, you must submit. If you defend yourself then YOU are the “thug.”

That’s the way it is in the USSA.

Hail Obama!

West Jackson? When my mother and father first lived in Jackson they lived at the Raymond Road Gardens, and, yes, if one punch equals a crap beating then stay home around here on a Saturday night...

BTW, after Hillary’s imitation of a dog barking when it hears lies I’m surprised people haven’t gone to her speeches and bark every time she opens her mouth...

Yep

Grew up behind what was Mynelle Gardens off Clinton Blvd and Country Club drive.

In a 1200 sq ft house like most folks till I was 15 from the Kennedy assassination till after Jackson St riots

No air conditioning in Mississippi....hot

My grandfathers Walking Horse estate was further out...it’s now the Reformed theological seminary

That whole area is all hood and decaying quick

French elementary
Hardy JR high

Then came busing late 69/70 and a year later we had moved to end of Meadowbrook and I went to Jackson prep

My world totally changed

I had no idea that world existed

Speaking of Raymond road

There are quite a few A. Hayes Town architectural homes off Raymond rd near Terry rd where my wife makes me take her to see them when we go to Jackson couple times a year to see kinfolk

I notice one rebel flag holdout on McDowell road near Alta vista I think it’s called

I used to know a lot of folks between hwy 80 and Cooper road

The death of a city largely

If he said that any guy who attends ROTC before getting into the military is just a closet homo, would you still sit calmly ?

LOL, I've been in similar situations, and it's not easy.

My last two months of HS were hell, because I won an ROTC scholarship. My HS was 15 miles south of Berkeley, and I was called a bunch of vile names. I even had teachers express their "disappointment" to my face over my decision.

The only teacher who publicly supported me was my Calculus teacher, a former Jesuit priest at Marquette. He was thrilled that I was going to Gonzaga.

I may not be the success in life that my wife expected or hoped, but that decision opened the door to life experiences that I never could have dreamed of.

So, in answer to your question, I'd consider the source with the self confidence that comes from being trained in hand to hand combat, and wearing the coveted Army Parachutist Badge. lol, I'd probably buy the guy a beer for the heck of it.

You go looking for trouble and are surprised when you find it? We used to have no compassion for this.
