Donald Trump has just smashed another politically correct taboo, and the consequences will be profound. Speaking to Anderson Cooper in a CNN interview, he blatantly stated what I suspect a majority of Americans believe: “I think Islam hates us.”
This is a discussion long overdue.

The outrage developed almost immediately, and almost all of it misquoting Trump, as if he said all Muslims hate us. See, for example, Cenk Uygur, who dismisses this as “unbelievably ignorant,” and claims that nobody can speak for Islam:

Actually, it is very clear what Islam is: the Koran and Hadith. And they are very clear about infidels:
Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing... but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun(the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)" (Translation is from the Noble Quran)
And
Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."
And
Quran (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

And I think Trump is right. This story appeared on Yahoo.com and they wrote it as if to say it was absurd, racist and a heinous thing to say.
The attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon proved that. Donald Trump witnessed that islamic hate first hand.
The debate moderators will ask about this and get the other candidates on the record during tonight’s debate. Do you think anyone who hems and haws (or will disagree with Trump) will get positive traction with voters next Tuesday?
