Part of Cruz's difficulty in Michigan is that Kasich has been working hard. I live in Maine, and have no clue how or why Cruz was so popular here. Maybe the Catholics go for him.
I wonder if the results this past Saturday didn't have a sort of "sports effect," where when a team (Trump) loses to an underdog (Cruz), the team that lost gets fired up, now having to prove a point. That would put all of Trump's opponents at a disadvantage.

something stinks about Maine. I've lived in New England my whole life, makes no sense that Trump blows out MA & NH but loses bad in Maine.

IIRC, Cruz got 8,000 votes in Maine. A state with a population of 1 million. Just a tiny amount of voters can swing things when that few people are voting.
