In the year of the outsider I can’t see Kasich doing well anywhere. Nine terms in the House funded by open-borders, pharmaceuticals, oil, etc. then through the revolving door to Lehman Bros. where a non-banker gets a banking job for a cool half-mil a year.
I see Kasich either getting paid by GOP to break up the vote or using his delegates to force Trump to take him as VP which would be terrible.
Kasich started out highly critical of Trump. Notice how quickly he smartened up? He hasn't been part of the food fights, so could probably be acceptable to most of the others.
