On Sunday night, conservative talk radio powerhouse Rush Limbaugh sang the praises of Republican Presidential candidate Ted Cruz, calling him trustworthy, likable, a true conservative and in a different league, on different planet when it comes to substance.
Limbaugh has previously deemed the Texas senator the most conservative of the entire Republican presidential field, even calling him the closest in our lifetimes we have ever been to Ronald Reagan. During his quick interview with Fox News Chris Wallace, Limbaugh reinforced this sentiment after Wallace who has had a few testy exchanges with Cruz in the past challenged that previous comparison of Cruz to Reagan.
"I think he has the ability to appeal to everybody, replied Limbaugh, after conceding that Cruz has limited his appeal via his tailored message. That debate the other night that you guys did I don't mean this to be insulting to anybody, I'm just telling you what I saw he was on a different league. He was in a different league, on a different planet. Everybody says we need substance in these debates, you got it. You got it from Cruz. The other guys are doing what they were doing. At one point, [Donald] Trump even had to say, Yeah, whatever Ted said, I agree with. He's in a different league.

No matter what anyone else says, Cruz would still be our first foreign born president with dual citizenship.
Personal attack for requesting we adhere to Jim’s request for civility.
Get lost.
If all that were true, why hasn’t the establishment already done that to reduce Ted in the years he has been a Senator?
As Robert Reich has already said, the Dems fear Ted worse than anyone.
You are making it up, friend.
Invoking a talking head who speaks favorably of Hillary is hardly convincing. Cruz's associations with megalomaniac fringe groups and public figures such as Beck are a gift horse for Hillary. His dominionism combined with his unappealing persona would be toxic in the general. None of this can have escaped the notice of Rush Limbaugh, who is a marketing expert of the highest order. No wonder so many FReepers have been posting lately that they no longer listen to him.
Oh, NOW you're the diplomat.
You're hilarious Theo.
“15 years ago a guy like Bernie Sanders would have been a joke. Now hes viable candidate.”
This is true, and it shows the depth of our failure as a movement. We have come to prize style over substance, identity politics over policy positions. We elected W twice and defended him as he dismantled what remained of the Reagan legacy.
We can still pull out country back from the brink. It’ll mean nominating a true conservative instead of a blustery liar, though, and too many on our side have allowed themselves to be taken in.
Still, optimism is the hallmark of conservatism. And Ted has given me much to be optimistic about. He’s rising as people learn more about him. And about Donald.
Ted Cruz can turn the style-over-substance tide with common sense conservative positions, and the reality TV star can go back to the plywood boardroom set where he belongs.
You are exactly what we’ve come to expect from Trump supporters: vile language, personal attacks, and inability to carry on a polite and thoughtful conversation.
Your posts are on display for the world to see.
Except of course, the roughly 70%+ of folks who have voted in all Republican Primaries and caucuses, who have voted for someone else....
Hannity was never more than a Parrot... basically get the faxed GOP memo every morning on whatever was the hot topic of the day, and just parrot it over and over and over... ignore any real challenge to it, or answer any questions directly when challenged on it.. just repeat, repeat, repeat.
Hannity may have some intellect rattling around in his head, but it is NEVER on display with his on air personality. Convert that personas intellect into electricity, and you couldn’t toast bread.
I’ve agreed to adhere to Jim’s request at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3405593/posts to “drop the vitriol against each other and against our leading candidates as of now.”
For the sake of our republic, I encourage you to do the same.
Have you apologized for your past ‘vitriol’?
Have you apologized for your present “vitriol”?
I’ve moved on. Go Cruz.
I'll get on board as soon as Cruz denounces Glenn Beck. He's no better than the KKK.
Quite a statement! The American people are in the latter.
I feel a song coming on.
