Did Donald Trump's fax finally settle the debate over the facts?
One of the more contentious moments for the GOP front-runner at the latest Republican primary debate came when Sen. Marco Rubio and debate moderator Megyn Kelly questioned the performance record of Trump University, a now-defunct real estate training program that spawned class-action lawsuits by former students as well as a lawsuit by New York's attorney general.
On the stage, Trump maintained that the program, which was renamed the Trump Entrepreneur Initiative before ceasing operations in 2011, had earned an "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau, which both Kelly and Rubio disputed.
"The rating from the Better Business Bureau was a D minus," Kelly insisted.
Trump said that grade had been changed.
"It was elevated to an A," he countered over and over.
The dispute over the facts and Trump's veracity was left there during the televised face-off. However, at a commercial break shortly before the debate ended, Trump left the stage to hand a fax to Fox News' Brett Baier, who also moderated the event. Here is the moment captured by Independent Journal Review.
That fax, as Trump trumpeted via Twitter and in a Facebook post, contained the updated BBB letter grade.
The allegations around Trump University, the class-action lawsuits and the attorney generals case, are likely to continue dogging the billionaire businessman. But on one aspect of the issue, anyway, he might have made the grade.
It’s certainly possible they had sent it to his office at some time in the past, and his office faxed it to him that night. Don’t be so quick to think evil.
Trying to remember the quote directly, but it went something like this “When are you Harvard boys going to realize that what you spend 50 Grand on, you could get down at your local library”
All colleges and universities are a scam if you think about it
Did you read my post comparing the victims of the Trump University scam to Trump supporters.
It’s a perfect metaphor.
Innocent, gullible people paying hard earned money because they believed in Donald Trump and he scammed them..
And here we have the same sitution.
Innocent, gullible people voting for an imaginary guy because they believed in Donald Trump.
He ain’t that guy.
Yes. And the # of complaints in the last 12 months for this new iteration of TU is another giveaway. Will be interesting to see the ratings for the now-defunct Trump University.
It’s certainly a comparison but not at all sure it is a metaphor.
And I hesitate to say to you what I often find myself saying to, uh, lefties but (clearing throat) whatever it is, it’s just your opinion.
Or, as the four-eyed foo fighter said to ‘Patches’ Kennedy, “Just because you say it’s so don’t make it so.
“I tot I metaphor sex, but she slapped me face. Auk auk auk auk auk!”
Popeye to Wimpy
I got a Card in the Mail saying that I may receive a Settlement from a Class Action Suit against Lifelock.
I have no idea what Lifelock did to deserve being Sued since I never had a problem with their Service.
Reading the small print, I may get a Check for $14 and the Law Firm representing the “injured parties” will receive $10,000,000.
Apparently you can not only Indict a Ham Sandwich, you can Sue one as well.
If Trump can be sued over Trump University, every Student who ended up with a Liberal Arts Degree should be able to sue the College they attended for the $100,000 in Student Loans that they signed for with their Eyes wide open.
This Country is redefining Idiotic. A Nation of spoiled children who blame everybody but themselves for their circumstance in Life.
No he’s not
He destroyed
She is a proven liar, again
Why cheer the people who use the “war on women” on our own candidates?
I don’t understand this line of thinking
You support Cruz, cool, good for you, why do you have the MSM to destroy Trump? Why can’t Cruz beat him in a fair fight?
Think about it
Wow, you are getting desperate
You support Cruz, cool, good for you
Why does that mean you have to use dirty MSM tricks to destroy Trump? Cruz can’t win without dirty liberal tricks?
This is a bigger Cruz problem, then a Trump problem
If the MSM, DNC, RNC finally destroy Trump, what the heck do you think they are going to do to Cruz?
Don’t people realize that the A rating was for the renamed business and not the original Trump University which was not really a university? The D rating was for the university. Why was the business renamed? Go look it up and find out why it was renamed.

Trumpsters, read and weep.

You are right, the only people who benefit from these class actions are the lawyers. The little people (victims) get peanuts.
I remember a case back in the 90’s a CRT monitor class action, I got a post card in the mail that I could claim an award of $7 and change, the law firm got millions, I threw it in the trash. Wasn’t worth digging up a receipt for some stupid monitor I bought 5 years prior.
So what?
Let’s destroy our own candidate
That is great idea!
So you support Cruz, good for you, and you glee that the MSM is using dirty tricks to destroy Trump
What will you do when they do the same with Cruz? Do you think they will let him “pass” without the Trump treatment?
I see you support Cruz, cool, good for you. Now I ask you this, how would you feel when the MSM give Cruz the Trump treatment?
Do you seriously think they are going to let him slide do you?
Clickbait!
I think FR should have a rule: No clickbait headlines. Find a source for the story whose headline is not clickbait.
Briefly. She’s about to lose her looks and resemble a shed snake skin. She’d best not spend her book money all in one place.
a sleaze-ball operation that used high pressure sales tactics to separate middle-class Americans from their hard-earned money.

I have a hobby of reading US Supreme Court decisions and have read just about every RICO opinion that has come out of the US Supreme Court.
I have also read almost all of the pleadings in the California RICO case, the appellate court rulings, and Trump's deposition. Trump is a very bad witness, and the facts admitted by Trump and his people lead to the obvious conclusion that he and his "University is going to slammed.
An interesting feature of RICO cases is the claim is against the individuals who control a Racketeering enterprise and are personally responsible for the plaintiffs' treble damages and all legal and attorney fees associated with the case. Trump will not be able to protect his personal or business assets when he loses the case.
