Sharyl Attkissons Full Measure Full Measure tackles one of the biggest topics in American today - the southern border. We travel to the 372 mile long border between Arizona and Mexico where the question is: who's really calling the shots?
I don’t know what I said here to incur the wrath of Alas Babylon.
I haven’t participated in 3 weeks, except for one mild comment.
But Alas felt it necessary to send me a private mail admonishing me for being a disruptor, apparently because I’m not in favor of Trump for president, which I innocently assumed was my right.
So, since it’s His thread, well I’ll see you here after he sends me a private mail asking me to come back.
Well, if you’re sick of us I’ll do you a favor.
Bye.
Thanks for calming my fears!
Not! Lol I was really hoping I was way off base.
Trump took down "low energy" Bush. Little Marco is on life support. Carson and Fiorina are out of the race. Trump stopped Hillary's sexist attacks when Trump reminded us of Bill Clinton's abuse of women and it also helped Bernie because Bill was out campaigning against him.
The question that needs to be asked of Reps, is how far are they prepared to go to defeat Hillary? Trump has shown he will get down in the mud and the blood and the beer to defeat anyone. No Marquess of Queensberry rules. He fights like a Dem. Everything is on the table. That is what worries me about Cruz. Will he do whatever is necessary to win? Nothing off limits. It disturbs me when I see this:
Ted Cruz says he wont use former President Bill Clintons political liabilities against Democratic presidential contender and former first lady Hillary Clinton.
I am not interested in getting into personal attacks and innuendo, he said Tuesday at a news conference in Cisco. Hillary Clintons biggest liability is that her policies are a disaster.
New York businessman Donald Trump, the front-runner in the Republican race for president, has used Twitter to black Bill Clinton as abusive to women.
If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the womens card on me, shes wrong! Mr. Trump said Monday via Twitter.
Cruz says he wont engage in such attacks.
The Reps have lost the popular vote in five out of the last six Presidential elections. They are on the cusp of becoming the permanent majority party. A loss of the WH in 2016 will be the end of the GOP as a national player and the end of the country as we know it. The stakes are enormous. We need someone who will be vicious and brutal in order to do what is necessary to win. Another milquetoast Rep candidate like McCain and Romney will lose. We must be willing to make it personal and have a candidate who can attract more Dems and Independents along with increasing GOP turnout to win.
That was an outstanding opening.
I stopped watching the Sunday ‘News’ Programs a couple of years ago so then this weekly thread has become a ‘primary source’ for me regarding important insights.
Thank You.
P.S. Loved especially the one liner regarding the Cuban immigrant job seekers. That one is a keeper.
"...may well..."?????
I'd humbly suggest those two words be replaced by IS.
Yes, more than doable assuming Trump will perform well in the Northeast and other winner take all states. The key is momentum. Trump still has a path without FL and OH, but he needs, IMO, a win in one of them to maintain the air of inevitability. A breakthrough by Cruz in FL or OH would tip the race in his direction.
No doubt Cruz helped himself yesterday re perceptions. But he must now prove he can win in places like MI. It is amazing that Trump has been so strong in the South. If Trump wins in Mississippi on Tuesday, he will have swept most of the region. And he is ahead in NC, if you can believe the polls.
What are his “close ties” to Goldman Sachs?
That his wife works there? Is she not allowed to work? Or not allowed to work at a bank?
Is he not allowed to take out loans? Or accept donations? What are the rules?
Are only billionaires allowed to run for president since they’re only ones who can afford to without donations?
What about the General election when Trump is forced to accept donations because he won’t be able to fund his own gen. election campaign? What about when Goldman Sachs donates to him?
What about Trump’s investments in GS? Are they not as suspicious as any donations to Cruz? I mean Trump will benefit financially and personally if they do well. Won’t he do their bidding?
Real questions here because some things don’t add up.
Obama is not held accountable for his actions. People throughout the country resent both him, his party and the Republicans for not doing their jobs to hold Obama accountable. That is why we have Trump and Cruz energy getting so many votes. Obama’s failed policies have threatened our security and now we are in debt so deep it is doubtful anyone can ever fix it.
Could you imagine having to listen to Hillary for Four Long Years. She may even hire Obama as Chief of Staff!
You nailed it.
These holier-than-thou posters LOVED when Trump was running over Jeb and Co.
Now they are on the verge of tears saying we just cant beat Hillary unless we run Ned Flanders.
Cruz will get flattened fast and early.
Besides being hyperbole, since when is using bankruptcy laws equated with "legally stiffing" someone. The bankruptcy laws are in place for a reason. Virtually every successful businessman of any note has used them. The car companies and banks have used them along with government bailouts.
Trump is a risk-taker. He wins some, he loses some, but to date he wins more than he loses. Isn't that what capitalism and being an entrepreneur is all about? Aren't those "being stiffed" responsible for their actions and decisions?
Saw that myself - looney beck equating nationalism with Nazism.
Surprised steffi didn’t ask beck how the secret service visit went on Friday after his stating on air he would stab Trump repeatedly if he was on the debate stage?
Agreed. Bernie’s supporters, especially the young, will be furious if Hillary is forced to drop out and is replaced by someone who has not gone thru the process. It is probably the reason why Hillary will not be charged and indicted. Too much at stake for the Dems. It will show how corrupt our system has become.
Glen Beck is one sick puppy and many are beginning to realize it. As I have said before hes over his head.,He has way more than he can handle and its beginning to show.
I held more than my nose to vote for Romney. I haven’t missed an election since 1972. This is not the first year I’ve contemplated leaving the GOP, but sadly, it is the first year I’ve contemplated staying home. If they nominate Cruz, Romney or Rubio I’m done.
Killjoy.
