Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, a former Air Force pilot who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, said on Thursday that Donald Trump is openly advocating war crimes that would cause the soldiers who obeyed his orders to be jailed.
If youre a private in the field and your major or your colonel orders you to do something that is a war crime, you actually bear responsibility, you cant say that the colonel made me do it, said Kinzinger, who is supporting Marco Rubio. What Donald Trump, as wanting to be president of the United States is advocating, is a war crime that would force every soldier that did, i.e. killed the relatives of terrorists, tortured regardless of whether it not it works, the things that hes advocating would force all of these people in jail.
Speaking on the Steve Cochran Show on Chicago radio, Kinzinger argued that Trump was either all bluster or comparable to Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.
Now, you have to do one of two things, he said. You either believe that Donald trump is all bluster which most people do but for some reason they like that, or you take him at his word in which case he is advocating, like what Benito Mussolini did, war crimes.
Kinzinger also said that what Trump was calling for makes me sick.
For the leading Republican presidential candidate to advocate war crimes, which he does openly, just advocates war crimes, doesnt matter, makes me sick really, he said. Especially as somebody thats defended the country. Its just terrible.
Later in the interview, Kinzinger said, I cant see myself supporting Donald Trump. I never say definitively because who knows in the future. But I have no intention of supporting Donald Trump.
As for his preferred candidate, Rubio, Kinzinger said he felt pretty good about the Florida senators chances of winning his home states primary, but that Id definitely rather be in Trumps position politically.
Watch yourself, the next FReeper arm chair combat/war QB may be coming for you on the knowledge of actual identification and engagement of the enemy.
I’m with you it is bluster, in fact all of it with not one shred of specificity. Then again we’ve allowed the media to orchestrate and direct the clown car show debates the republican debates have become.
As a Navy Vet I can say that Trump didn’t go far enough....
Western Civilization didn't learn this lesson from the Boer Wars, and it has been a plague on us since. Both parties have to abide by the same set of rules in armed conflict-- or it gets out of hand. Sometimes, war has to be nasty, so that EVERYONE avoids it.
Im ex Hoffman Estates. I left the state and will never return.
Well guess what, EVER HEAR oF DRESDEN? EVER HEAR OF HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI?
WHO won the war?
That is a completely different issue from ROE's that enable a terrorist to shelter within a civilian community. Noncombatant civilians who are not participants in the war effort who are killed inadvertently during the course of legitimate strikes are one thing. That's why we could bomb German factories in WW2, and why targeting ISIS's oil tanker trucks is perfectly legitimate.
But advocating going after families specifically is a war crime. No way around that. Bunch of armchair trigger-pullers around here, I think.
The RINOS will stop at nothing to sink Trump...
“Of course you will not bother to learn what Trump said just snark and run away as usual.”
So this isn’t what he said? Feel free to correct me then.
And the other thing is with the terrorists, you have to take out their families. When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives. Dont kid yourself. But they say they dont care about them. You have to take out their families,
What are you? Anti-Trump?
Like wiping out the Branch Davidians at Waco, that kind of War Crime ?
Send all the Muzzies back to the ME or wherever they came from. As the sects within IzLame battle one another they'll kill each other in droves, whether they're men, women, or children just like they did in the World Trade Center.
Then you go over there and tell them about it. Start with Yemen where our good pals the Saudis are committing War Crimes every day, or maybe just Iraq where we have a fine "green zone" to hide in while plotting air strikes and drone strikes based on "intelligence" we get from Sunnis about their enemies who just happen to not be Sunni. Never a War Crime there, nope, not a chance.
Just "collateral damage" like Dresden. Using the term "War Crime" is a convenience that's applied for purely political reasons because war is a continuation of polotics by other means. Wake up, at least a quarter of the air strikes we've carried out were called War Crimes when Bush was President but now, presto chango, using the exact same methods they're "surgical".
Trump has made statements advocating targeting and killing the families of terrorists.
http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/02/politics/donald-trump-terrorists-families/
“He said in war you must crush the enemy stop pussy footing around use whatever means necessary to extract the terrorists next targets
Advocating specifically going after families is a war crime. No matter how you spin it.
That is handled through the military chain of command and working in conjunction with Congress not a king, a lord, or dictator.
He is first a Rubio hack. These guys are crazy pissed and just flailing about in Rubios failure right now
He was a pilot who served in combat zones. He is not a combat fighter pilot who had to test his own loyalty to his oath of service against getting shot at, sending people in raids, dealing with the consequences or killing people, which, facing moral dilemmas in the ME, where combatants hide behind women and children.
He wasn’t even acquainted with those who did. Presenting himself as one does tgem disservice by pretending to know how they think.
He did reconnaissance and refueling. He should present himself as such. It is a worthy and respectable position. It doesn’t lend itself to the wisdom he professes
He is all about Rubio.
Advocating specifically going after and killing families is a war crime. I don’t care who does it.
Trump clearly spelled out the case of a family that had knowledge and aided those terrorists.
Anyone aiding is a fair target by Congressional resolution of Sep 14, 2001.
“the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons”
So, if families help, then families can be targeted.
What did trump say? Apparently that is unimportant
Killing the families of terrorists?
It’s not Trump they must sink, it’s an America populated by Americans.
