If Trump goes into the convention with less than the 1237 delegates needed to win, then maneuvers to dump him are fair. He didn't clinch the deal. Most delegates went to someone else.

If he has the delegates, however, and the GOPe still tries to dump him then the party will implode and deservedly so..

If he falls short but is close, then the balloting should continue and we will see whether switching take place. After all, this is the way it used to be done. But the same rules should apply to all the candidates. Treat the guy fairly or we all see a Bull Moose split.

Even if Trump’s, say, 3 delegates short of a majority, the rest are evenly split amongst Rubio and Cruz, and the nominee turns out to be none of those three? Would you consider THAT outcome “fair”?
