Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson looks to be dropping out of the presidential race, despite multiple declarations to the contrary on Super Tuesday. He will skip out on Thursday night's debate, and he has openly declared that he does "not see a political path forward." Carson will speak on Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where he is expected to drop out of the race. If so, whom will he endorse?

Sources close to the good doctor have told Independent Journal Review's Benny Johnson that Donald Trump is most likely to receive Carson's endorsement. "Trump was contacting Dr. Carson regularly during the campaign and remains in contact," a former Carson staffer told Independent Journal Review on condition of anonymity. I would not be surprised if the first call Ben got today was from Trump." The staffer added, "The chance of Ben jumping onboard with Trump is very real."
Another former Carson staffer said, "Carson would be the crown jewel of an endorsement for Trump." The retired neurosurgeon would bring a degree of moral support to the real estate tycoon, who has taken hits from evangelical leaders for being indecent and untrustworthy, and Marco Rubio has repeatedly denounced him as a "con artist." Carson, by contrast, is well regarded as a moral man, primarily by evangelicals.
Carson's former Iowa campaign chair Rob Taylor said Trump would "rarely say anything ill of Carson." If he were Trump, Taylor said "Carson would be my #1 pick for VP. He has the balance and reasonability that Trump needs."
It is very unlikely for Carson to back Cruz, as the good doctor and his campaign suspects that Cruz stole votes from him in the Iowa caucus. Cruz and his surrogates around the state propagated a lie that Carson was dropping out, and told Iowa voters to vote Cruz instead.
"The Cruz campaign is dishonest," declared one former Carson staffer in Iowa. "The feeling was felt by everyone on the campaign." Another former staffer said Carson considers Cruz "untrustworthy," and added, "The last campaign Dr. Carson would support now is the Cruz campaign."
While the good doctor distrusts Cruz, he has a friendly relationship with Marco Rubio, the former staffers told Independent Journal Review. The Florida senator has been in contact with Carson over the phone, according to Taylor. The former Iowa campaign chair said he does not know whom Carson will choose, but he does know the Carson's next move.
The very first thing the man does in a decision moment is ask God for guidance and sometimes that is the very best thing...Dr. Carson will do whatever the Good Lord tells him to do.
How different from the real estate tycoon Carson might just endorse on Friday.
Gentle Ben didn’t hit kids with a hammer
He attacked his mother, or so the story went
Nowadays he looks like the worst thing he would attack would be a cheeseburger, upon waking up
Nothing presidential about the guy but it would be nice if he would join the Trump campaign team and play a role in the next adminstration
Trump would never be a VP to an intellectual midget and shirker like Marco. Trump is right over target when he asks the people of FL what their Senator Foam Boy has delivered by missing so many votes
As far as poaching goes, looks like Cruz hired Jeb's finance team today. That should prove effective! LMAO
But he’s definitely not establishment. lol
I remember that. That was really nice of Trump to do that for him. A Carson endorsement will probably give Donald a 2% boost, putting a little bit more distance between him and Cruz
bttt
Watch the video of the last debate where they screwed up the candidate introductions and left Carson standing awkwardly in the wings just off stage
The other candidates breezed right past Dr Carson standing ther not sure what to do
Trump saw the situation, stopped, and stayed with Carson until he could get onstage
Totally unscripted and a good look at the true character of a gentleman. If that was lost on Carson. it is his loss
After spending $120 million for nothing, I imagine they kinda wish they would have just bought one of Trump's properties.
Yeah, I did see that, also I saw Carson talking about the IRS and that gave great credence to Trump talking about his audit. Plus Trump has stood up for Carson more than once over the debates. He’s never said a bad thing about Carson that I can recall.
I’d love to see it happen, but for some reason I thought Carson said something this week about Trump that would rule that out. Again, I can’t remember what that was, and I’m old, so I could have imagined it or read it the wrong way.
But... I’d love to see the two of them on the same ticket. Trump said he’d chose someone very political though, I don’t think Carson fits that bill, but who knows.
It would definitely shut up the Trump is a racist stuff. Dr. Carson is more black than Obama wishes he would be and is a great success story. He would bring temperament to Trump, and heck Trump could bring a little chutzpah to Carson. They could work well together.
Maybe we’ll get a decent Surgeon General out of it.
Sessions?
Carson would be a great head of the VA or maybe HHS. VP, not so sure.
Seems to me that Carson has forgiven him for saying that.
“Trump is right over target when he asks the people of FL what their Senator Foam Boy has delivered by missing so many votes.”
In the face Obama’s veto pen, Rubio’s actual vote is not often important.
If Democrats and Republicans both want something, it will pass and get signed into law without Mario’s vote.
If only Republicans want something, the Big Black Chief with the lethal veto pen probably won’t want it.
But Carson is too “pathological” for Trump. He might bludgeon him with a rock... or something.
I know Carson is a much better man than Trump is. However, Trump either believes it or he was lying at the time, i.e., that Carson is pathological like a child molester. Why else would he have said it?
Carson might stab him in the belt buckle, as Trump himself demonstrated (see above).
Carson would be the crown jewel of an endorsement for Trump.
GREAT TO HEAR. No one EVER doubted Carson’s integrity or character.
So much for the Trump-haters.
Maybe but I’m beginning to think that career politicians are per se corrupt and am leaning more and more to a term-limit amendment. That may or may not address politicians that jump around from office to office, but it could help.
Would Sessions actually lay off 200-300 officers, bureaucrats and government workers for the sake of the Constitution and political freedom in America? I’d might think someone on the outside would be more likely to actually do that. Something about the inside of the D.C. beltway - it perverts and damages the brain over time.
