Rumors Swirl: 'The Chance of Ben Carson Jumping Onboard with Trump Is Very Real'

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson looks to be dropping out of the presidential race, despite multiple declarations to the contrary on Super Tuesday. He will skip out on Thursday night's debate, and he has openly declared that he does "not see a political path forward." Carson will speak on Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where he is expected to drop out of the race. If so, whom will he endorse?

Sources close to the good doctor have told Independent Journal Review's Benny Johnson that Donald Trump is most likely to receive Carson's endorsement. "Trump was contacting Dr. Carson regularly during the campaign and remains in contact," a former Carson staffer told Independent Journal Review on condition of anonymity. ”I would not be surprised if the first call Ben got today was from Trump." The staffer added, "The chance of Ben jumping onboard with Trump is very real."

Another former Carson staffer said, "Carson would be the crown jewel of an endorsement for Trump." The retired neurosurgeon would bring a degree of moral support to the real estate tycoon, who has taken hits from evangelical leaders for being indecent and untrustworthy, and Marco Rubio has repeatedly denounced him as a "con artist." Carson, by contrast, is well regarded as a moral man, primarily by evangelicals.

Carson's former Iowa campaign chair Rob Taylor said Trump would "rarely say anything ill of Carson." If he were Trump, Taylor said "Carson would be my #1 pick for VP. He has the balance and reasonability that Trump needs."

It is very unlikely for Carson to back Cruz, as the good doctor and his campaign suspects that Cruz stole votes from him in the Iowa caucus. Cruz and his surrogates around the state propagated a lie that Carson was dropping out, and told Iowa voters to vote Cruz instead.

"The Cruz campaign is dishonest," declared one former Carson staffer in Iowa. "The feeling was felt by everyone on the campaign." Another former staffer said Carson considers Cruz "untrustworthy," and added, "The last campaign Dr. Carson would support now is the Cruz campaign."

While the good doctor distrusts Cruz, he has a friendly relationship with Marco Rubio, the former staffers told Independent Journal Review. The Florida senator has been in contact with Carson over the phone, according to Taylor. The former Iowa campaign chair said he does not know whom Carson will choose, but he does know the Carson's next move.

The very first thing the man does in a decision moment is ask God for guidance and sometimes that is the very best thing...Dr. Carson will do whatever the Good Lord tells him to do.

How different from the real estate tycoon Carson might just endorse on Friday.

No because the next thing to go should be the unconstitutional and miserably wasteful $1 trillion Dept of HHS. Wouldn’t want Carson to lose his job.

May I suggest that you take the time to learn a good bit more about Dr. Carson’s character, words, and actions before maligning one of the most decent and patriotic Americans alive today?

He may not be the “right” candidate for POTUS but then not many thought Jesus was the right candidate for Messiah. (And I am emphatically NOT saying Dr. Carson is equivalent to Christ, only that the judgement of the masses is not always accurate.)

That would end the competition right there. Cruz could simply not overcome such a circumstance.

(And nobody cares what Rubio does, he doesn't have a prayer.)

If he endorses Trump, does that mean that he agrees that he is a pedophile?

That’s right because the Constitution was never meant for businessmen, only for limiting the federal government. Trump has some catching up to do.

BTW, that’s true with all outsiders who assay to federal political office.

But, actually this pushes back down to the issue of the ranks of grade-level education where the Constitution should be taught but NOT by the Lefts would completely destroy the presumptions, structure, and actual wording of the Constitution.

Dunno how to fix that. How can we get the average Joe to learn the Constitution as written and originally understood and intended? Big job that.

That would be wonderful (though I have a hard time believing it). Trump smacked Carson around pretty hard.

One thing for sure Carson is not going to throw his support to Cruz. That you can take to the bank.

An endorsement from Dr Carson would seem very odd as the person most antithetical to Trump’s style is the good doctor himself.

But politics make strange bedfellows

“downsize the government”

Like putting Godzilla on a diet.

Here’s my suggestion, do it slowly.

Trade immigration legislatively effective after a Constitution amendment is ratified that has:
1. tax caps - upfront
2. birth in USA after ratification means you have mom’s citizenship - upfront
3. federal fiscal years must end in the black or Senators/Congressmen/Congresswomen/President can’t hold office again - after 2024

If they have to live on just tax revenue after 2025 the waste will get trimmed by late 2024.

These people want and need the Hispanic vote. Make a deal that’s good for us now and for the nation by 2025.

Of course he will. These lesser candidates have been in the run for VP and is the only reason they are still in.

I would not be surprised at all if Carson backs TRUMP. Carson knows TRUMP is not who the other candidates say he is, and has to appreciate the support Trump gave to him, both in IOWA and with the faulty entrance procession, at that one pathetic debate where the sound was off.

My choice of a ticket for the nation is Cruz and Carson, both good people.

The most electable person is Rubio. Trump would probably be his most effective Vice President (head of the Senate) since deals are Trump’s true love. Unlikely, since they have been going at each other too hard. Carson would get things done too. Cruz would make a fine Supreme Court justice.

If Trump wins the convention prize, then he needs a Hispanic, either Cruz or Rubio to ensure victory over the Wicked Witch in the final contest.

I still think that was one of the most classy moments of the campaign and the most classless moments of Cruz and the rest.

——I would be shocked if Carson threw his support behind trump. Donnie is pretty much the exact opposite of Carson in every way
.
.
.
.
My business has been fairly successful over the last 30 years, and I can truly say the major reason for this is that my business partner and I are almost exact opposites of each other.

But this builds strength in our business. We have had hundreds if not thousands of after hour arguments, but have always come to a consensus with one of us agreeing the other one was seeing things more clearly.

He is a far superior person when it comes to dealing with clients, and my strength lies in dealing with day to day operations. I struggle even to this day when I am with clients, I feel out of place, while he struggles when he is on a job site.

Sometimes these things work real well together.

I can’t imagine a marriage like that, but in business, it’s not a bad deal IF there is respect for one another, both peoples ideas are respected, and one takes the time to think about situations before making a decision.

That being said, I thought Carson had disparaged Trump a few days ago. I can’t remember the post (or even if I read it here or saw it on TV), sometimes I only get a brief bit of time to read the news in my car, but for some reason I thought it sounded like Carson wanted nothing to do with Trump. I could be wrong, and probably am.

“health care plan”

The federal government mainly has to set up the subsidy framework (much as many folks here would deplore such a thing).

Private companies need to be free by federal law to create plans with true value.

Drug and care coverage should be split, with drug coverage being sold nationally and care coverage being sold on a state/regional(metropolitan statistical area, state rural area) basis and a hospital chain/network basis.

The federal government or state governments need to enable/encourage surgeons and anesthesiologists to set up low-cost surgical centers (outside the gates of the enclaves where they live)with combined effective 24/7 coverage for emergencies.

As for drugs, the patent/FDA laws need to be changed to require individual affordability (at most what you would be expected pay at most to send Junior to college) for all your needed drugs, so most people only financially need to buy care coverage.
