Back to Videos Trump: Romney Begged Me For Endorsement, I Could Have Said 'Mitt, Drop To Your Knees' And He Would Have By Ian Schwartz Posted on March 3, 2016
Donald Trump responds to the speech Mitt Romney delivered Thursday morning on the state of the 2016 race which he used to lambaste the Republican presidential frontrunner. At a campaign rally in Portland, Maine this afternoon Trump talked about how Mitt Romney begged him for his endorsement in 2012, which eventually did happen.
"He was begging for my endorsement," Trump said Thursday. "I could have said, 'Mitt, drop to your knees,' and he would have dropped to his knees. He was begging. True. He was begging me."

Sorry if I view our once common language through a different prism.
They gave my husband and I a laugh. Silly, but funny considering the egos involved.
Donald’s talking WWE trash. He did it all the time to Real Guys (or at least Reel Guys).
A little context matters. I think it downright amusing sometimes all the hair that gets on fire because this redneck rassler gets taken straight up. And probably Trump does too, though strictly speaking he probably owes some explanations before he inadvertently horrifies half of America. He’s trying to get votes by a fixed date, not to go down in history as an outrageous actor.
Yeah right. Cuz Donald never talks sex. Of course there was a sexual connotation.
Yes please do. NeverRomney.
You’ve never heard the expression “down on your knees begging”?
Either that or your mind is in the gutter. Poor kids.
On his knees begging is what he said and meant. Your mind inserted something else.
When people are begging they often do so on their knees, why is this something you’d have to explain to your kids?
In about 6 months, I think the people on their knees will be the Republican establishment.
Yep. Once the leftist rhetoric started, I stopped supporting him.
Ditto
The comments on this board display again why we lose elections constantly. Romney absolutely savages Trump today. I can’t remember a time in Presidential politics when a major party has tried to knee cap it’s front runner for months! Yet you and other twits on here, rather than being enraged at Milt, are complaining about something Trump said that “might” be interpreted as a sexual innuendo. Who the hell cares? Trump should tell Mitt to go eff off, but he won’t. I immediately thought of being on your knees begging while you think of Mitt being on his knees for another purpose. Maybe you are the sick one, not Trump.
Johnson would call staff to meet just outside the door to the small Oval office powder room, while he sat there and took care of personal business.
JFK had his Camelot, LBJ liked the can a lot. The only upside I can see from it was that Robert “Bucky” Kennedy was so disgusted by the practice that he quit.
No he didn't. He said beg. In the context of the whole rant he was talking about how Mitts was begging him for his endorsement.
It's your own mind that perverted it.
The idea of voting Trump gets sweeter and sweeter, I confess.
He might not be able to get away with murder, but I daresay that there is going to be a lot of mayhem.
I admire Trump’s no-holds barred response.
He doesn’t sit there like a punching bag.
Unlike Mittens who called Obama a “good guy” and refused to fight back.
Mittens is angrier at Trump than he was at Obama.
That says it all.
This is a WWE “guy” thing, not a “gay” thing (except for “gays” who slip into that crowd for the sake of the secret thrill, but a fellow who has had three wives and a slew of kids doesn’t sound like a prime candidate for this, frankly).
“Well I guess we know what Christie’s role in the campaign is. “
Read this again and at the end say, “fluffer.”
I couldn’t stop laughing, but it doesn’t take much to entertain me.
It was indeed gross, but it made me laugh because it is probably true.
