Ted Cruz Campaign Running Out Of Cash
DCWhispers ^ | March 2, 2016 | DCWhispers

Senator Ted Cruz won a hard-fought partial victory in Texas during last night’s Super Tuesday primary battle. It was the culmination of months of time and money spent meant to culminate in a clear post-Super Tuesday lead in the race to the GOP nomination this summer. The southern states were to be Cruz’s ticket to the White House.

For Cruz, that ticket never arrived. The Texas senator remains well behind Donald Trump in the delegate count, and now rumors are swirling of a campaign that has spent almost as much money as did the already-departed Jeb Bush fiasco, with little more to show for it – and that money is said to now be running out.

The numbers are staggering.

Over $100 million raised, much of it from Big Oil, and law firms, and much of that now spent trying to secure a better than 50% victory in Texas that would have garnered the candidate all of his home state’s 155 delegates, Instead, Cruz will have earned less than 44% support among Texas voters, a number well below historical averages for home state Texas candidates.

....

Ted Cruz gambled almost everything on a decisive Super Tuesday victory. That victory instead went to Donald Trump. Now word is spreading that Cruz’s former willing donors are pulling back from the campaign. Cruz still has considerable cash on hand, as does the Super PAC promoting him, (both raised significant amounts last month primarily after Cruz’s Iowa Caucus win) but far less cash than before yesterday’s primary battle and likely not enough cash to survive yet another month or more as projections have fewer and fewer donations coming in, unless the senator is somehow able to pull off one or two big upsets come March 15th in either Florida or Ohio.

And I don’t think Cruz would accept any offer from donnie. After the Cruz speech on the floor of the senate we know he does not like working for a liar.""""....

I don't want Cruz to accept such an offer either. There was a time I thought I would be good, but now I don't because I don't want him to tarnish his creditability and principles. If he don't win the nomination, he can try it again with out the DT baggage.

Hooking up with DT, would be disastrous for him.

True, you check again.

To be nominated at the convention under the current rule, you have to win the majority of the delegates of 8 states. That means you have to win 50% or more of the delegates, not just more delegates than anyone else.

Cruz has only done that in Texas. Ted one IA, OK, and AK, but not a majority of the delegates. So only Texas is a qualifying state.

The weakness of the Cruz campaign was that he was dependent on big money donors, i.e. the GOP Establishment donors, who could pull the plug on him when he no longer suited their purposes.

If Cruz is not going to succeed in splitting the anti-Establishment vote enough to block Trump, then there’s no point in propping him up.

This is why his promise to "fight for Florida" rings hollow.

He doesn't have the money to fight for FLA, or OH. The media markets are too big and he's tooo dependent on ads and that expensive Ground Game.

His monies will dry up except for the few dead-enders who are still deluded.

All institutional money is going to Rubio. They've made their choice.

So many little trumps claiming Ted Cruz is spamming them for donations via e-mail.

Find that hard to believe as I actually contribute and am never spammed.

Before this thread is over, I fully expect a little trump to claim that Cruz showed up at his door with a gun demanding a donation.

What’s wrong with these people?

"Time to send him some more money then, don’t you think?"

By all means, send him all the money you have.

Because a 30sec ad in FLA costs $200,000+ in each TV market. But OH and MI are cheaper...probably below $100k.

And what do you think it costs to have 100 staffers paid, every 15 days? Charter aircraft...buses...hotels...

Hey, did you hear that Pelosi is endorsing Trump? YEP, saw it on another thread..Yupheeee

How many establishment critters have now endorsed him? Pelosi, Reid, McConnell.....I know there is more, but who's counting. He's going to make a deal...door 1 door 2 door 3? Well that depends on what DT said last year, or was it yesterday or what he is thinking of saying tomorrow.

It is so hard to keep track of lies, isn't it? Stay on course, tell the truth and you don't have to TRY to remember what you said.....DT just didn't listen.

I’m sure he could and pay it back just like the other SECURED loan he made, no problem. But he didn’t take bankruptcy did he?

"including the Kochs (there’s a whisper for you)."

BS!

The Kochs announced yesterday that they would not make any contributions during the primaries.

So... let me see if I have this straight.

Cruz is either broke or the big money people have been propping him up.

If the Big Money people are propping him up, why isn’t he propped up.

He’s got most of his money from small donors who want him for president, as I do.

The little trumps on this thread are all over the place on this.

What’s wrong with you people?

Cruz should be on the Supreme Court. McConnell would love it too because it would get him out of the Senate.

Or Donald Trump could sue someone for money.

Or maybe start another university.

Or build something using illegals.

Or get a loan from the mob.

OMG, how lame is that?? Do you honestly think I care what is spent on those things? REALLY? OMG

But since you are so interested and caring, let me give you his website so you can help...it is TedCruz.org. He takes credit cards. I'll send him just as much as I can, and enough to piss you off. TedCruz.org........use your credit card.

The little trumps on this thread are all over the place on this.""""""""""""......

As they are on all DTs issues...Kind of have to pity them as they can't keep up with DTs position from day to day, he even has them double speaking, and it is getting harder and harder for them to stay cognitive.
