Marco Rubio's supporters protest appearance by the GOP front-runner, who has donated more than $100,000 to the event's host.
Donald Trumps speaking slot at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturdayis prompting an acrimonious backlash from the conservative critics desperately trying to mount a last-ditch campaign to block the GOP presidential front-runner from winning the partys nomination.
A top aide to Trump rival Marco Rubio has accused CPAC organizers of being in the tank for Trump and clearing the way for his acceptance into mainstream conservatism, while an anti-Trump super PAC is pressuring organizers to rescind their invitation to the surging GOP front-runner.
Potentially complicating matters further, sources tell POLITICO that Trump has made multiple donations totaling more than $100,000 ― including a $50,000 check last year ― to the American Conservative Union, the group that organizes CPAC.

Rubio a Conservative??
Conservatives trying to NOT allow a speaker? If that ain’t a libtard tactic I don’t know what is.
Trump 54 rubio 10 what a race yeah he got a chance
“The anti-Trump super PAC Make America Awesome this week launched a petition calling on the ACU to rescind its invitation to Trump. If plans for Trumps speech proceed, the group is planning some form of protest at the convention center hosting CPAC in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, according to Liz Mair, the GOP strategist behind the PAC.”

Wah: Obese RINO Erick Erickson whines bout Liz Mair firing

Militant feminazi Liz Mair was forced to resign from the Scott Walker campaign Tuesday after Mairs radical pro-amnesty, pro-gay marriage, pro-abortion views went viral
(SNIP)
“She is very good at her job. She is also a friend of mine. I have known Liz for a number of years I am very saddened to see an organized effort by conservatives to have Governor Walker fire Liz Mair it is really appalling to see self-described Christians showing as little grace.”
(SNIP)
Even after two autopsies, a toxicology report, surveillance footage, and additional witness testimony called into question his initial reading of events Erickson refused to apologize for his rush to judgment:
“I am most bothered by the near gleefulness of some that the early facts were wrong I have been flooded with emails and comments on social media to the effect of Will you admit you were wrong? That bothers me most of all.”
Be easy now, they are just looking for a safe place ...
Remember that time a guy who supported traditional marriage was booed at CPAC? Same year they invited a gay marriage advocate to speak? That was 2010. Point being, take the C in CPAC with a grain of salt.
Just shameful behavior on the part of those who are against Trump...no honor, no integrity, just shameful immoral behavior.
She’s like a bad penny.
What are they afraid of? If he’s as crazy as THEY say he is, let him speak then we can see for ourselves. It’s as if THEY have decided for everyone. Fancy that and I was under the impression there was an election process.
I am not a Trump supporter, but CPAC is supposed to be a conservative idea forum, so let him speak and tell us what his conservative ideas are. Let him air his ideas for all to hear and let the citizenry decide for themselves whether to support him.
Precisely.
With Trump you get egg roll.
I’m a Cruz supporter, but any candidate who has the support of Phyllis Schlafley, Jeff Sessions and Sarah Palin deserves a hearing.
That’s the right thing to do.
If you are not inclined to do the right thing, Trump can and will make YOU the issue, and not in a good way.
The last line should have been: We believe that all conservatives have it in them to remember that we, in the end, all share a similar goal, and that is for us to stay focused on defeating the Left and -”MAKING America GREAT AGAIN.
Interesting article.
Rubio has moved into the same column I recently put the pope
well said!
Have you seen this PBS documentary (posted at theconservativetreehouse.com) ? How very, very, very close we were to full amnesty in 2012. And then Eric Cantor lost his seat.
I watched it last night and went to bed stunned, speechless, and shaken.
Laura Ingraham had so much to do with David Bratt ousting Cantor - forever grateful, Laura. She saved our bacon.
