Great idea! Let’s ban the use of the domestic energy source that we have a 500 years of known reserves. Brilliant! Just brilliant! /s

Why? Are they stupid?

Global Warming is not due to human contribution of Carbon Dioxide - Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts? By Timothy Ball

No Smoking Hot Spot (The Australian)

The missing hotspot (JoNova)

Those two articles take Greenhouse Theory at face value and by the criterion set up in the theory itself finds no evidence of warming on the basis of greenhouse effect.

Sky-high hole blown in AGW theory?

"Forbes reports on a peer-reviewed study that uses NASA data to show that the effects of carbon-based warming have been significantly exaggerated. In fact, much of the heat goes out into space rather than stay trapped in the atmosphere, an outcome that started long before AGW alarmists predicted:"

That article explains why no Hot Spot has been found.

The Hidden Flaw in Greenhouse Theory

Falsification Of The Atmospheric CO2 Greenhouse Effects Within The Frame Of Physics

Harvard astrophysicist dismisses AGW theory, challenges peers to 'take back climate science'

It Is Impossible For A 100 ppm Increase In Atmospheric CO2 Concentration To Cause Global Warming

Simple Chemistry and the Real Greenhouse Effect.

Those five articles each show that Greenhouse Theory has no basis in reality due to a direct conflict with the known laws of physics. No wonder the smoking gun "hotspot" can't be found.

Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud

That article kills any thought of planetary warming from any cause. Think about it. If there is absolutely no sign of an acceleration of sea level rise how could the planet be warming? The rise in sea level in the last 100 years is far less than the average over the last 18,000 years caused by the inter-glacial period we are in.

"Oregon lawmakers on Wednesday gave final approval to pioneering legislation that will eliminate coal from the state's energy supply by 2030"

It's irresponsibly liberish to totally eliminate coal from it's mix of electrical power sources.

This is all being rammed through in a short legislative session that is not even supposed to be about policy. This is the danger of ending up with complete democrat control of all branches of government. Especially since when our corrupt governor resigned his extremist Secretary of State became Governor. I cannot wait until our unelected governor comes up for election.

It makes Oregon the first state to eliminate coal by legislative action, and places it among a handful of other states with renewable energy standards 50 percent or higher.

It makes Oregon the first state to triple or quadruple the cost of energy to its inhabitants! It is a step back one hundred years in reliability, quantity, and quality of electricity production and delivery.

Good luck!

Coal is solar energy in a stored form. It would be cheaper to find the technology to eliminate undesirable emissions from energy production using coal.

The premise that CO2 causes global warming is FALSE to start with.

They are going to be importing their electricity from other states where it is cheaper.

Absolutely pointless.

Once again Oregon is ruled by an unelected gov and the Willamette elites. No one else gets a say. I only hope the Oregonians that leave don’t bring the Californication with them. What toxin is in the Pacific Ocean that turns people in to such power hungry commies?

Isn’t Oregon also on a mad dash to eliminate all the dams? The windmills will kill the birds so we can’t make those. And some desert rat will stop solar. They’ll go nuclear right??? hahahahha

The bill forbids importing from a coal source in the other state.

As I recall, Ontario campaigned to eliminate coal from its power supply, and the way it worked out was that Ontario ceased to be a net "donor province" to Ottawa and became a net "recipient province."

Oregon has but one coal burning plant and it’s been in operation since 1980.

So the crux of the bill is that when it retires after five decades of operation (IIRC roughly normal lifespan) the State will have no coal burning plants.

Typical liberal nonsense ... rhetoric and nothing more.
