So get a grip, ok?
Donald Trump has also said Cruz is eligible to be president. Does anyone know Trump's most recent position on this matter?
I mean in the last few minutes.
You don’t have any memory of people questioning Obama’s eligibility?
You said...
“Those that believe Cruz is not eligible for the office of President, only think that because the Donald said so. None of you long term FReepers ever mentioned it prior to trump.”
Bears repeating. And it seems alot here have given up alot because Donald said so
In fact,in that link posted by 2DV, not one disagreed that Cruz was eligible.
So was Cruz reborn in that time in Canada?
Wasn’t a challenge to Cruz’s eligibility thrown out in a court already? Think I recall reading that somewhere
I didn’t recall that said I was supporting Trump. Just that I am going and yes I am a fan of Paul LePage.
That’s not true, there was discussion around Cruz’s eligibility since he made it clear he would be running. It was just not a public discussion until Trump.
>>>None of you long term FReepers ever mentioned it prior to trump<<<
Kill the Messenger? Start with that doofus DemoncRat Congressman in Florida who threatened to Sue if Cruz was Nominated. That was long before Trump ever mentioned it.
BTW - Not a Trumpster. Cruz Supporter until a couple of days ago when I realized he doesn’t have a Path to the Nomination.
Now I’m a “anybody but the DemoncRat” guy. Whoever gets the Republican Nomination gets my Vote in the General Election.
I was saying it and a lot of others were saying it before Trump started saying it.
We started saying it after we learned he was born in Canada. Trying to say that a foreign born American is “natural born” turns Article 2, Section 1, clause 5 on its head.
And that just wouldn’t do for a strict constructionist, originalist Constitutionalist like Mr./Monsieur/Senor Cruz.
That’s just not so. I thought Rubio might have a “natural born citizen’ problem because of his parents’ citizenship status at the time of his birth; I never thought Cruz was eligible because of his own Canadian birth, so I never thought he would run. I guess his strict interpretation of the Constitution ends when it comes to himself.
Eh sorry ,with all due respect, some did—especially during the H-1B Visa discussions.
Perhaps, we Trump supporters did not know that Cruz was born in Canada, and his father was a citizen of Cuba. I certainly did not. What I mistakenly thought was that Cruz was born here, his mother was a citizen, and his father was a legal resident in the process of becoming a citizen. Besides which, it doesn’t matter what I think, Trump is correct, Cruz is not eligible, and this will most certainly be an issue down the road.
I did not know Cruz was born in Canada or that his father was not a citizen until he decided to run for President and I researched him. Trump had nothing to do with my decision to drop Cruz like a hot potato.
He lied to me if only by omission.
