Healthcare Reform to Make America Great Again
TRUMP ^ | 3-2-2016 | Donald J. Trump

Posted on 03/02/2016 3:55:38 PM PST by sheikdetailfeather

Since March of 2010, the American people have had to suffer under the incredible economic burden of the Affordable Care Act—Obamacare. This legislation, passed by totally partisan votes in the House and Senate and signed into law by the most divisive and partisan President in American history, has tragically but predictably resulted in runaway costs, websites that don’t work, greater rationing of care, higher premiums, less competition and fewer choices. Obamacare has raised the economic uncertainty of every single person residing in this country. As it appears Obamacare is certain to collapse of its own weight, the damage done by the Democrats and President Obama, and abetted by the Supreme Court, will be difficult to repair unless the next President and a Republican congress lead the effort to bring much-needed free market reforms to the healthcare industry.

But none of these positive reforms can be accomplished without Obamacare repeal. On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare.

However, it is not enough to simply repeal this terrible legislation. We will work with Congress to make sure we have a series of reforms ready for implementation that follow free market principles and that will restore economic freedom and certainty to everyone in this country. By following free market principles and working together to create sound public policy that will broaden healthcare access, make healthcare more affordable and improve the quality of the care available to all Americans.

The policy ideas listed here are actually quite good.

sound public policy that will broaden healthcare access, make healthcare more affordable and improve the quality of the care available to all Americans.

What does that mean?

Does Mr. Trump consider it sound public policy to remove government from health care entirely?

So I expect in tomorrows debate we will hear Ted Cruz apologize for lying about Trump’s healthcare plan by saying he was going to expand Obamacare into socialized medicine.

Or not...knowing Teddy.

NIce.

“Allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns under the current tax system. Businesses are allowed to take these deductions so why wouldn’t Congress allow individuals the same exemptions?”

Interesting.

Cruz doesn’t let a little thing like an abundance of contradictory fact to get in the way.

tl;dr

But like the idea that he’s putting out specifics. It will dominate in the debate and he’ll continue to direct the narrative of todays issues.

BAM! I am sold. This is yuge. Solves half the problem so individuals are not locked in to one size fits all employer plans. People end up with pre-existing conditions because they have health care from their employer one day and not the next. It's a system that should have died a generation ago when people no longer had a long career with one company.

Love it. Wish that he could convey this when he speaks, instead of....

“I have plans - BIG plans for health care. And I’ll put people - top people - on it. And lemme tell ya, these people are smart. Real geniuses. This is going to be great and make America great too!”

Makes him sound like a carnival huckster. Wish that he shovel less BS and present more ideas like this one, he’d be unstoppable.

I like to think as well.

But I’m skeptical that very many people tune in whenever a candidate tries to start talking about policy specifics.

Granted, with most politicians I tune them out because I’ve heard them profess the same policy ideas for decades, that come to fruition.

But there are actually fairly novel ideas being presented here that I’ve not heard spoken of much before.

In his book, Trump says government should only be involved in health care as a last resort.

With all due respect, in some of his very first speeches on the campaign trail, Trump laid most of this out.

His supporters have been trying to remind people of this for going on nine months.

Now in response to him giving a few more details, say you love it, but just can’t take a pass on trashing him for too much B. S.

You’re proof there’s a lot of that going around.
