Game over! This was a rout, America. Winning seven states and the vast majority of delegates is a landslide. Donald Trump and the millions of his supporters have changed American politics and the Republican Party for the foreseeable future.
The nomination is within his grasp and if he does what he said he would do Tuesday night: "[I will] be a unifier!" he may be a very viable candidate against Hillary Clinton in the fall.
After his victories Tuesday night in multiple states and his second place finish in others , Trump is in an unstoppable position. Whether the junior senators from Texas and Florida choose to pursue him, it doesnt matter, the end is near.
Trump, who is an unconventional candidate, to say the least, has tapped into the anger and frustration across America and has mobilized voters to turn out in record numbers.
Love him or hate him, be inspired by him or be appalled by him, Trump has totally dominated a political cycle like no other politician Ive seen in decades.
I admit I was a total skeptic, like many others.
At first, I didnt think he would run.
Then I thought there was no way he could beat the all-star cast of elected officials running against him.
Then I underestimated his lack of substance and trite answers in the debates.
Then I was convinced the political establishment was going to spend millions and take him out. And like the Energizer bunny he just keeps going and winning!
Trump is getting stronger by the day and his supporters are locked in and not going away. And no one has mastered the media like this since Teddy Roosevelt and his rough riders.
What's ahead is a Republican Party that either becomes part of his movement or splinters

I like that strategy
If it was Rubio that was that close I’d be concerned about gope shenanigans to get him the nom, but Cruz won’t get any help in the dirty tricks department from them.
I believe soon the Grand Old Party will be changed forever and we will have a more inclusive party when it’s all over. We will have ousted the Republican elite snobs and formed a true Big Tent! Welcoming all.
I cannot wait to build these new bridges and Make America Great Again!
Im going to ask a very serious question: What would Trump have to do or say, to get you to stop backing him?
He has boasted that he could kill somebody in the street and his supporters would still back him.
If nothing he says or does could get you to stop supporting him, you are in Jim Jones territory. Adolf Hitler territory.
Butter, that is a ridiculous question. It’s like, which would you rather, be stabbed or shot to death? What could your child do that would make you stop loving him? That realm of stupid.
All people. This morning you can CLEARLY SEE that the parties both work for the same small group of powerful people and they are ok with allowing us our little joke of an election each four years because they stack both sides with candidates they own and control (or will after the election).
If you don’t agree with the preceding paragraph, please read it over and over again until you do. It is the truth.
Hillary is one of the ones they own. Easy to own her: promise to keep her out of the federal penitentiary.
They also own Rubio. They feel they could own Ted Cruz in a millisecond if they don’t own him already. And they can: he has small children.
Trump is our best chance at getting our Constitution back. It’s plain and simple. He is not perfect. But there is a shot we can have our free republic back. Maybe bloodlessly. Right now, it’s almost gone.
It'll be interesting to see how he handles this. If he's able to ignore Bubbles babbling "conman" and Cruz lying his butt off and simply puts forward what he wants to do and why he's the only one who can really do it, he'll sew it up IMO. (OTOH so far nobody's paying for my opinion...)
Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know all about that. And I’ve already stated that I will hold my nose and vote for Trump against Hillary (once again, the lesser of two evils) if it comes down to that....although I’m getting really FTFU with having to do that every damned election thanks to the idiots voting for the RINOs and thanks to the Democrats crossing over and picking the GOP nominee.
So stop with the veiled threats, ok? If Free Republic stops being a place where freedom of speech is allowed, I...as will other solid, hard-core conservatives...find another place to dwell. Nobody will have to ‘ask’ me to leave. Got it?
“Trump is a Liberal who has been smearing a conservative candidate fior months, so it makes perfect since that conservative voters would have a hard time supporting him. They see no difference between him and his buddy Hillary. Why conservatives would not want to support a candidate Cruz, who is far more conservative than Trump, in the general election over Hillary is a mystery though. Maybe FR is no longer a conservative forum.”
Or maybe you just have everything ass-backwards.
How about this one... Trump is NOT a liberal, and Ted Cruz has all the personality of someone’s creepy old uncle who you wouldn’t trust to mind the family cat.
Exactly.
I’ve seen many self-appointed mods come
... and go.
For a relatively young guy, Cruz has a large spare tire around his mid section. This is not healthy.
Yep, I heard the whole bit and it made me laugh.
I’m laughing now at all the comments here - a few haters to keep things interesting.
I’m surprised people still fall for the ‘right vs left’ meme. It’s clearly US vs THEM now. I’m not a fan of our current government, and will never ever support another slimy politician. In a land of millions upon millions of citizens, I find it sad that so few decent people are willing to put their money where their mouth is - and we get saddled with lightweights like Rubio, scum like Kashich and little sneaks like Cruz.
If he continues praising Planned Parenthood it will also hurt him. This is basic blocking and tackling for anyone wanting to win the base in the primaries, but he’s not doing it. Trump may have moved to the left, where he’s most comfortable, too soon.
We’re not there yet...the nominee has not been chosen, yet.
So using JR’s words in an attempt to silence the opposition in the primaries is poor form.
Look, I agree! I’m as mad as the next guy. But I will vote for the nominee this time. If a bush or rubyio got the nom I would stay home. I will take Trump or Cruz because they both have some gusto. Trump is going to be a wreaking ball rolling thru DC. Cruz would also do something similar just not bouncing off the walls. lol
Good luck to us all.
PS. I’m in commiefornia so I have no say in the process.

Never have I seen so many pseudo conservatives on the MOST conservative site on the net. Trump is a full-blown democrat. If he wins the nomination, it will literally be the first time in history that two democrats go against each other in the general.
Guess the "women" from the "SPEW" show wont have to go to Canada after all.
God Bless America!
Wake up you fake conservatives.
Don’t forget, Hillary is going to be the defender of a woman’s choice and she will have the millions who already made the choice to abort on her side, not to mention those who want the option. I think we need to focus on banning late term abortions, or hillary wins.
Well, as a conservative...I value freedom of speech more than anything. The only other thing I value almost equally is the right to defend myself from attackers, both physical and ideological. Once a forum gets to the point where there is freedom of speech for only one opinion or one side, both of those values evaporate.
I have walked away from more than one forum that devolved into just that...a forum for one view only. I would hate to see FR sink to that and right now, I don’t think it’s possible. But then...I didn’t think Obama’s presidency for eight years and what’s going on in this nation right now was possible either.
Not trying to silence anyone. Post away! Just trying to get people to vote for our party. Not throw it away. We need all we can get since the repub politicians are going to vote for their opposition!
Ok. Then we’re on the same page here.
Thanks.
