Cruz Making Plans To Drop Out of Race? (Roger Stone says Ted demands SCOTUS appointment from Rubio)
The Political Insider ^ | March1, 2016 | Bill Cunningham

Posted on 03/01/2016 1:16:32 PM PST by drewh

A long-time political insider just made a bombshell announcement about conservative Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is running for President.

This Republican operative, who has worked on 9 different presidential cycles, couldn’t keep it quiet any longer after being in talks with key leaders of Cruz’s and Senator Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) campaigns.

The insider is Roger Stone. He once worked for Donald Trump, and passed along his report to a popular radio host that Cruz used a high-priced attorney to confidentially request that Rubio’s team promise Cruz a Supreme Court appointment in exchange for Cruz exciting the race. This is in addition to recent reports that the candidates’ wives have been in contact, discussing why someone dropping out is essential.

This is unprecedented, but Cruz has to be well aware that the political establishment is lining up behind Rubio. Fox News has a pro-Rubio tilt, and the powerful Koch brothers just sent a number of their top operatives to Team Rubio in hopes of defeating Trump during a contentious convention fight.

Cruz has been a bold conservative voice in the United States Senate who has been willing to filibuster Obamacare and take on his own party. But while he’s a constitutional scholar with solid principles, it’s clear that after his team messed with Dr. Ben Carson, he is also willing to play dirty tricks.

However, those tricks haven’t changed Trump’s nearly insurmountable lead, and Cruz doesn’t want to face even more legal battles about his former dual-citizenship with Canada. Cruz, who is a former Supreme Court law clerk, may see a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court as the perfect exit strategy!

As Roger Stone once noted about Cruz, he is the ultimate Nixonian politician:

Vladimir Lenin said, “There are no morals in politics; there is only expedience. A scoundrel may be of use to us just because he is a scoundrel.” I can’t think of a better description of Ted Cruz’s relationship with the DC-Wall Street Establishment – Cruz being the scoundrel of course. Cruz’s claim of not being a tool of the political elite is like Bill Clinton telling the world, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” […]

Despite his ability to lie with a straight face (sadly Nixonian) on his support for amnesty and TPP, he got nailed by Senator Marco Rubio on the debate. Acting like a prick in the U.S. Senate was the core of Ted’s disciplined effort to bury his old school ties and reinvent himself as a modern-day Jesse Helms and supposed Conservative outsider. It’s a ruse. It’s clear that something dramatic has to happen this week, with 12 primary elections happening on Super Tuesday. Without deals like this, nothing can stop the Trump Train.

What do you think about Ted Cruz allegedly offering to drop out of the race?

By your logic trump threw in with the KKK.

Why can't you quote what you are responding to? I have absolutely no idea where this crazy thought originated.

Anyway, I'll agree that Ted did not start out as a GOPe stooge, but it is increasingly looking like they sucked him in. He was the (R) Senate campaign guy equivalent to Schumer (D). He was there for the McDaniel smear, albeit with distance, possibly intentional, for plausible deniability.

But worst of all, he ( and you ) have engaged in this KKK smear now on Trump which is ludicrous if you know anyone from NYC, like me. There is no Klan here, none within hundreds of miles. There is no more multicultural place on Earth and Trump has strong ties to black and Jewish and every other community. It's his livelihood. You might as well accuse Jesse Jackson of being a Klan member. All you've done is make him angry. And probably inoculated him from further smears later.

No, what has happened is the creepy, dirty, slimey, rotten underbelly of the (R)epublicrat GOPe establishment has been exposed to the light of day. And Ted Cruz, Mark Levin, and you, chose to throw caution and common sense to the wind and jump in head first because you figured it would suit your agenda.

It was evil against Chris McDaniel, and it is evil now. That's why I said you better prepare yourself for the possibility that your hero has been turned. Your non-answer two posts back confirms my suspicion that it won't matter to you. You'll follow Jim Jones right to the Kool-Aide dispenser regardless.

One more thing.

Imagine if Trump or his voters attacked Teddie for hanging with the Duck Dynasty guy. You know, the one that slammed homos and got A&E all riled up, and suspended the show?

I would never do this kind of attack, but the reality is that doing it would NOT be a lie. The KKK crap is far worse because it *is* a lie.

~sigh~ I doubt you are capable of understanding this, being a cult member and all.

click the “TO XX” to see what I’m responding to.

In regards to the KKK. I never said I agree with it or that Trump is racist. My position is he had an Alzheimer’s moment. But logic presented was that if the GOPe ends up supporting Cruz to stop Trump that means Cruz is GOPe. That’s the same thing as saying since KKK supports Trump trump is KKK. See how stupid that sounds.

I see which post# but I meant what quote made you leap to that conclusion.

In regards to the KKK. I never said I agree with it or that Trump is racist. My position is he had an Alzheimer’s moment. No, that was not the logic at all, at least from me. I did not mean if GOPe supports him that makes him GOPe, I said what if Cruz threw in with them. I said, it sure looks like they have turned him. Obviously I agree with anyone that guilt by involuntary association is an evil tactic, the tactic that YOU and Cruz are doing. It is voluntary association that is actionable.

hmmm...you so now you lie calling me a cult member. But yet you attack lying. Which is it...are you for or against lying?

I'll just say this instead. If you stick with Cruz if it becomes clear that he has thrown in with the GOPe then you will be a Jim Jones style cult member, okay? From what I see so far from you and Levin and some others you are most likely going to go down with that ship.

So did you join Obama on his victories? Or did you go down with your ship?

In 2008 I voted for Tippecanoe and Palin Too, for what should be a fairly obvious reason. I already knew about the fraud McCain, and the fact he would have been the first elected non-NBC President I had suppress, but I rolled the dice on him being succeeded by Sarah.

In 2012 I wrote in Sarah Palin. No way would I vote for the anti-American open-border amnesty free traitor Romney/Ryan ticket.

And before you ask, the answer is yes. If Trump was an anti-American open-border amnesty free traitor I wouldn't be here today.

And we would be sunk.
