Donald Trump says parts of his immigration proposals are negotiable, but only minor details about his border wall.
In an interview with Fox News Sean Hannity on Monday night, Trump responded to a question about a recent claim, first introduced by BuzzFeed earlier in the day, that he told The New York Times editorial board in an off-the-record tape-recorded meeting that he may not follow through with his proposed immigration measures if he is elected president.
The New York Times is claiming today that they had an off-the-record conversation with you in January, Hannity started.
We had a board meeting, it was off-the-record, suddenly they leak it, its all over the place, Trump said.
They said its negotiable on the wall, Hannity said in reference to Trumps stance on Mexican immigration and his oft-stated promise to build a border wall.
By the way it is negotiable. Things are negotiable, Trump said. Ill make the wall 2 feet shorter or something.
Trump was quick to add that the negotiation does not include nixing the idea altogether.
Building it? Not negotiable.
Would it be negotiable about the 11 million? Hannity pressed. Maybe let some people stay if they register in a period of time?
I would say this, Trump answered. We will work out some system thats fair, but we either have a country or we dont. We need a border. We need a wall.

It would be foolish at this juncture for anyone to set in stone the plans for accomplishment.
Especially with the non-stop onslaught of media and party attacks.
If you don’t negotiate you get what Ted Cruz gets: nothing but a ticket back home.
Before people have bitched that he would rule like a king!
“Now imagine if Cruz had said it. “
Ok. Let’s imagine he did.
Let’s take some of Cruz’s promises, that seem to be passed off by his supporters as things that are good as passed into law.
So tell us, when Congress (you know that constitutional co-equal branch) says to Cruz “We are going to have to negotiate on this”, what is Cruz going to say?
MY PRINCIPALS ARE TOO STRONG FOR ME TO DARE DO SUCH A THING!!!! BE GONE, YOU CAD! I SHALT NOT!!!!
Or is he actually going to do what EVERY president since Washing has done?
You guys actually know that he will, right? You weren’t really sitting here thinking that he would get 100% of his agenda through, no questions asked, no amendments, and no failures?
So, we're supposed to take as "gospel" a story from the New York Times, which leaked an off-the-record (OTR) interview with Trump.
When did you become a crewmember on the Media DeathStar, SeekAndFind?
Just here to help the infirmed...
Cruz rules out ‘deportation force’ to boot undocumented
immigrants
Cruz indicated that he would only deport those who are apprehended, such as those who commit crimes or are caught by prospective employers without having immigrated legally. Immigrations and Custom Enforcement or Border Patrol agents could also apprehend those along the border.
So MS-13 members, you’re safe
Illegals pre rape of women and children, you’re safe
Illegals pre crime of any sort, you’re safe
Vote Ted Cruz...

To Trump supporters......I have asked this question many, many times on various threads and I really need an answer. I can’t find any information and this recent negotiable thing falls right in line.
So we know Trump will build a wall, we know he is sending them back and we know he will allow the good ones to come back into the US. It has to be mentioned that this is called “touchback” and has been the democrats proposal and is even in the Gang of Eight bill. Ok, so once the good ones come back in, WHAT THEN? Trump hasn’t told us what his proposals will be for the “good ones.” What will their status be when they legally re-enter? I am betting it will be precisely what is in the gang of eight. So are we being snookered?
Just wait until you see his *new* principles, once he pivots (back) to the center-left for the general election.
"I would say this," Trump answered. "We will work out some system that's fair, but we either have a country or we don't. We need a border. We need a wall."
When he decides deportation isn't fair, will the Trumpanzees finally admit they've been duped. I doubt it. Their leader is infallible.
“the trumpbots come flooding in insisting that nothing he said should have been considered binding in the first place, and that’s just fine “
So wait a minute.
What is Cruz’s stance then? Since we are operating from the position, by I suppose “Cruzbots”, that a president’s agenda is not subject to the back and forth of congress.
Tell us how Ted Cruz (the most principled man on Earth) is going to get his agenda through a congress that wont even pass his agenda now when he is a senator.
If he doesn’t build a literal 40 ft wall across the entire border people are going to be saying he reneged on his campaign promise. For pete’s sake, people (not you), it’s a metaphor. It will be part wall, part people, but MOST of all, it will be intention.
Cruz Chump!
What? Now the TDSers want Trump to be a dictator? Good one.
“Yeah i know. Hes going to make deals with Pelosi, Schumer and Reid. He already said that and I take him at his word.”

I’m fine with Trump making deals with those dolts. They’ll be left with nothing, and wondering what just happened.
Actually, you should be thanking Trump for DESTROYING the ENTIRE news media's phony posturing on "confidential" sources.
The next judge that gets a case involving this will be able to laugh it out of court.
This is THE OLD GAY LADY that pulled this crap. :)
Their status will be amazing. It'll be wonderful. They'll have the best, most luxurious, classiest status. Trump will make their status great again!
Yeah.
Read his lips.
