The Reagan parallels with Trump are just unbelievable. Another one. Good stuff. LOL.

Did anyone else get a 'gift' from Amazon this morning of the Washington Post

Can you please reword the first phrase of the first sentence?

It is either hopelessly ambiguous and unclear, or incomprehensible.

Well yes I was being snarky, but those are the types of snarky responses Trump supporters get all the time. For that I apologize. However, the question was legitimate. The GOPe does not want Trump to be their candidate, and they sure as heck don't want Ted even more so. Since I am unfamiliar with your posts how would I possibly know if you are not a GOPe plant or not? The answer is I wouldn't. The vitriol is not so much directed at Trump supporters but Trump himself. It's is a never ending attack on the same issues. I'll explain later in the post why this must stop and now.

But yes, I wholeheartedly agree let's move on in a more adult fashion and discuss our concerns.

First off this country is already well along the road to ruin. In fact it may even be beyond the point of repair. We are only having this conversation because Donald Trump raised the issue and brought it to the forefront. Had he not gotten into the race it would not even be an issue being talked about.

While certainly at a disadvantage of providing conservative credentials.,it does not mean Donald Trump is a died in the wool liberal. If he were, as Cruz supporters and Cruz himself claim, I hardly think he would have raised illegal immigration as an issue.

What you believe is just that, a belief based loosely upon how you interpret his past dealings with liberal politicians. You highlight the liberals he has contributed to while ignoring the fact that he has given more to Republicans, which include Ted Cruz.

Therein lies the big problem, you all assume that we "apparently" are pinning our hopes on an empty vessel, and this causes Cruz supporters great frustration. That frustration comes in relentless attacks on whom we support, and personal insults directed at Trump supporters as well. I have been accused of not thinking clearly, not being conservative enough, basically a lemming who blindly would follow Trump off the cliff, just as a few of the examples.

I obviously cannot speak for other supporters, only myself. He has won my support because he has proved himself to be a fighter. It's something even you cannot deny if you are being honest with yourself.

I can understand your frustration, however, that frustration should be laid at Cruz's feet. After all he is the one that refused to pick up the mantle of illegal immigration and make it his own, taking it from Trump. That decision cost him dearly. You must also be frustrated that Rubio is now trying to claim himself a champion on illegal immigration, while Ted still remains silent.

Let's be honest with each other, we are governed by a criminal oligarchy and have been for quite sometime now. They are scared to death of Trump. Why is that if he is part of that? Why is the GOPe afraid he will destroy this country, when they have been all to complicit is that very endeavor themselves? Could it be that they fear Trump if given the power of the Presidency will bring them down? I obviously do not have the answer, but I am sure as heck ready to find out. We have nothing to lose, and yet everything to lose. But we also have much that can be gained, and we will have our country back as a sovereign country. Not another piece of land in the hands of globalists. Where we will be treated like pawns. With no distinction between legal citizens and illegal aliens. In fact illegal aliens reap rewards while we citizens pay the price.

What is important right now, isn't conservatism. We are in a fight for our very lives as Americans to remain Americans.

Trump is whom I am giving my support to because I believe him to be our best shot at this time. I see no other taking up the issue as he has taken it up.

This is a very coordinated and well orchestrated attack to divide us to conquer us. Support whom you want, but when it is all over let us coalesce to defeat our real enemies. You and I are on the same team, they just want us to believe we have different goals. Let's show them we are together in this and share the same goal. That they are going to pay the price in the end.

BTW, do not be surprised if attempts are made on Donald's life. They too are frustrated and have seen all of their attempts crash and burn in utter failure. It's slowly becoming the only option left for them.

“Please enjoy this complimentary daily newsletter from The Washington Post, an award-winning news leader, brought to you by Amazon, working to be Earth’s most customer-centric company.”

Thank you for that clarification.
Even though I have been an Amazon Prime member for a long time now, I never plan to subscribe to any newspaper through Amazon. Now your original post makes sense

I’m with you, Robert. The Trump-bashing -is that ALL they stand for, then? How about ‘this is what I believe?’ How about, “I am a better candidate because?” How about ONE person naming Islamic Terrorism for what it is, and suggesting that just perhaps immigrants should be vetted? I have not seen any of that except for from Trump. Looking for a leader is all.

Then you’re absolutely not paying attention. Cruz has said repeatedly in the debates and elsewhere that we need to use the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism” and said that Obama can’t beat it if he doesn’t call it by name. Cruz also said he would restrict immigration from countries with a terrorist presence.

The polls show again and again that Cruz does better against Hillary than Trump. He always does better and usually beats her. Trump always does worse and usually loses to her. The idea that “a conservative can’t win” is GOPe propaganda told to us in the last two primaries and something Fox News inparticular repeated ad infinitum whenever discussing Gingrich last time or Cruz this time.

Trump had the same position on immigration that Rubio had when he did Gang of 8. Trump said deportation was inhumane and that good illegals needed a path to legalization. I don’t believe either of the two are sincere about changing that. Under Trump, we will see a huge deal cut with Congress including amnesty.

Well yes somewhat, and Rubio shows the best chance. in these head to head pools. Right now Trump is the favorite by far. So while we can speculate if a conservative can win the general election, if they cannot win the Republican primary battle then it becomes a moot point.

Ted is not Ronald Reagan and even if he were to pull a miracle comeback like Clinton did, he would likely lose moderates within the party. His success in reaching Democrat crossovers are slim at best. He might even motivate liberals to come out to vote. There are a lot of dynamics at play and it really is still too early to say how the general election would actually play out.

It's not that I have objections to Ted, though I have to admit that his eligibility status gives me grave concern. While I hear Cruz and his supporters claim he is a natural born citizen, we cannot be sure how that will even play out in the courts. While Obama got a pass Ted will not be afforded the same consideration. That is almost a certainty.

Keep your fingers crossed that Cruz does better in the primaries tonight than everyone is predicting the outcomes will be. However, realistically I do not hold much hope of the actual outcome being much different than the predicted outcome.

My whole point is that Cruz supporters are not helping Ted in the least with their constant barrage of attacks on the same issues over and over again. That the tactic should be one where you state the positives of Cruz while gently questioning non supporters of how confident they are Trump would live up to his stated promises. That way you come off as confident of your convictions towards Cruz while perhaps casting a seed of doubt in their support for Trump. Brow beating only causes blowback, and real concerns fall upon deaf ears.

Okay I had a rain storm come through and then dinner.

Now Ted Cruz has won 2 states. Congrats, Perhaps we might have a horse race here after all.

May the best man win.

Thanks for clarifying. I am overwhelmed at this point by the whole thing AND feeling cynical at the moment.

I got a gift (in quotes because I did not ask for it) from Amazon of the Washington Post, in an email. And it turned my stomach, because the whole thing was just an anti-Trump screed and I figured that perhaps every Amazon user was getting one.

What’s ambiguous about that?
