"Among people likely to vote in the Republican primary, people are 86.5 percent more likely to prefer Donald Trump as the first-choice nominee relative to all the others if they somewhat or strongly agree that people like me don't have any say about what the government does. Using statistical techniques, we can conclude that this increased preference for Trump is over and beyond any preferences based on respondent gender, age, race/ethnicity, employment status, educational attainment, household income, attitudes towards Muslims, attitudes towards illegal immigrants, or attitudes towards Hispanics."
"Trump also beats Cruz among likely primary voters who have liberal positions on economic issues. Trump does better among those who strongly support tax increases for the wealthy (incomes over $200,000) and support labor unions (Figures 4 and 5, respectively), while Cruz does worse."

Trump vs Hillary = socialist vs socialist, in my book. I suppose you’ll be voting for a socialist.
Cruz supporters oppose the growth of labor unions. Trump supporters favor labor unions. Cruz opposes tax increases. Trump supporters support tax increases. Trump supports single payer health care. Cruz oppose single payer healthcare.
Case closed.
” If its Trump vs Hillary, I may not vote. And that would be the very first time I havent voted in a Presidential election.”
So you had no problem voting for an avowed enemy to conservatism McCain, and open borders to boot. And no problem voting for a traitor like Romney?
But you will vote against Trump. Brilliant!
Do you think Trump will stand for 19 trillion in debt? If he is a socialist he will be the first one to reduce the national debt. Bone up.
You're useress...
Given the treatment of Cruz and his supporters here, I find it hard to believe that there are any FReepers left who believe that.
Sad thing is, Trump’s benighted myrmidons are all over once “conservative” media outlets hating and lying on real conservatives like Limbaugh, Levin, Reagan and Cruz.
What is frustrating the most is that Ted Cruz IS what Trump SAYS he is aka the anti-establishment candidate.
Ted has a RECORD of fighting the establishment while Duh Donald brags about how he is willing to compromise with it.
But then Trump has also stated how he loves him some poorly educated and it shows.
If the Republicans had done what they promised the electorate they would do if given control of Congress, they wouldn’t be having this problem right now.
Per RAND: Among Republican primary voters that strongly favor tax increases on the wealthy, Trump leads Cruz by 45%.
Among Republican primary voters that strongly support labor unions, Trump leads Cruz by 37%.
I don’t claim to know everything, but I know one thing - Trump supporters are not conservatives.
Bottom line— People are PO(!) across party lines.
We don’t like corruption and liars.
We don’t want to be a part of the Cruz-Rubio North American Union proposition, and we don’t like its requirement for open-flow borders from the southern most point of our continent to the furthest point North, with AMNESTY for all, with we working Middle Class financing all of it and without our permission.
Wake up.
TRUMP 2016
Ted has no vision or experience. He main forte is being a pain in the ass. His wife is another issue. Ignore that she is a globalist.
I’m not staying home. I have said on a pretty consistent basis that I would be getting behind Cruz or Trump soon after SC based on whomever has the clear lead. If Trump takes tomorrows, as it appears he will, I will be all in.
I thought McCain was a douchebag. And I thought he might be a terrible President. But I knew with 100% certainty that Obama would be awful. And I also knew we wouldn’t have Obamacare (ACA) if McCain was President.
For all we know, Trump will ally with the Democrats and loosen abortion laws and give us single payer healthcare. He’s a wild card.
I apologize if I got you wrong.
P.T. Barnum: “There’s a sucker born every minute.”
You should vote FReind, if there is no conservative on the GOP ticket aka Trump, then vote for the Libertarian candidate.
At least he or she (they have their convention in late May) will be MOSTLY conservative.
I voted for Dole, McCain and Romney as the lesser of evils but at least they had a LITTLE conservatism in their records.
Trump and Hillary have NONE.
You sit there? Our nation at risk? And you dare to sit there. To friggin’ pout?
TRUMP is serious. He will un-do the fundamental transformation of our country, by un-doing the fundamental transformation of our population.
Cruz will NEVER touch our illegal masses among our population! They are socialists from South American socialist countries. He REWARDS them. If left untouched, your future dies.
Glad you have opinions. Might you stop and think for a minute that maybe your emotion based opinions are wrong?
Trump loves the USA and wants to make it great. Clinton/Sander hates the USA and think it needs to be fundamentally transformed. On that issue alone, never mind trade, national security, taxes, immigration, etc. you share a commonality of interests with Trump you do not share with anyone running as a Democrat candidate.
Great and after you go down in flames and lose with Cruz. What then?
