Regarding the Trump gentle touch, I think Rush knows that these were MSM traps set for Trump, just like when Hugh Hewitt tried to play the name game gotcha with Trump.
The case of Duke was an unsolicited endorsement by Duke that fit nicely into the GOPe Mississippi Strategy to make Trump into a racist. Trump perhaps could have reacted to Todd's setup more deftly, but it was a racist trap that Trump was probably being wary of.
The Mussolini quote was pure liberal MSM entrapment. The website Gawker admitted to planting the quote to fool Trump into retweeting it. Trump did. Would Trump on his own begin quoting Mussolini to win voters?
You decide. I think Limbaugh decided, and chose to let it slide.

Rush takes Ailes’ advice to heart.
I just noted that he didn’t want to even slightly insult Mr. Schumer today on his show..... Why? Did they chat about it before he went on the air??? Did he know Schumer would be listening? Are there quid pro quos going on or is Rush like Fraiser on the TV show, just thrilled to be sitting at the cool kids’ table?

I really believe that Rush rolled over to the massive media and Establishment purging efforts to purge Trump from this election.
The way ‘they’ could do this is advise him he better play along or stations across the country that now broadcasting his show will start dropping his show.
Of course, the message would be diplomatically delivered to him and without being a threat.

And the caller was right, was she not? Trump's plan IS for so-called "Touchback Amnesty" -- if you're an illegal, go back across the border, go to the front of the line and return...if you're a "good" person (whatever that means...and however it's going to be determined by a federal bureaucracy).
Pretty much the same as the amnesty proposed by The Gang of Eight.

No offense, but your call was really dumb. You used the word “remedial” in an incorrect way as well. Maybe you were nervous.
What is your problem? You continue to post to me, you have called me dumb, you have called me an idiot, you made a ridiculous comment about “my pantyhose being too tight”, you have made your point so stop stalking me. If The Limbaugh show didn’t feel my point was worth debate, they wouldn’t have taken my call, so STFU.
Maybe you were duped, but I listen to Rush for his views. I use my brain cells, and I don’t follow Rush blindly. If you do, so be it. I’m not a LIV...I also don’t want a big government conservative who thinks region is part of conservatism. I’m a small government conservative, social libertarian.
Kenny, I kinda feel sorry for you because you seem to be sincere in believing that Trump will build a wall and secure the border.
I have difficulty with this because Trump admitted to using illegals on his projects. He explained that he couldn’t get ‘Americans’ to work for him because they expect decent wages and stuff.
Trump has also plainly stated that the ‘good ones’ can come back.
They will come back through the back door that Trump plans to build into the wall
Will Trump lean the mess or will he make it messier?
We are living in a strange landscape here.
It’s called Trumpville.
It’s a wonderful place. All our dreams will come true here. No more illegals. We will beat up all our enemies foreign and domestic until they are crying for their mamas.
The economy will improve ... not just improve but soar. And, by golly, we will show Mexico and China what they can do with their stuff.
Also, we will all get a raise or at least a job and maybe get a pony in the yard.
The only problem is all these people keep saying bad stuff about Trumpville.
They are so stupid, so moronic, we can’t seem to get rid of them and, so far, we can’t kill them.
