I dont even put a candidates bumper sticker on my car. People dont attend church to hear my views on a presidential candidate.
In this case, its not so much a question about particular policies or strategies about government or even particular opinions. Its a case of public derision of people. Its belittling people publicly. It would be none of my business, I would have absolutely no right to speak up except that he repeatedly brandishes the Bible and calls himself a Christian.
I wrote this article and sent it to the Trump team in hopes that they would respond. But they never did. I cannot imagine what their world must be like. Who knows? It probably got lost in some email basket out there. But I tried because I felt that that would be more appropriate to do.

That would be the CoC pastor who is worth about 10 million dollars from book sales, correct ?
Yet another sufferer of TDS. He’ll get over it.
He's worth millions but he's not coC anymore. And BTW, The coC doesn't have 'pastors' in the traditional sense.
So he was CoC and changed seats ? What is he now ?
I still can’t believe the Hobby Lobby family endorsed...RUBIO. Glad I held off getting all those sewing supplies for my daughter on Saturday. I’ll go to Joanne’s instead.
Cruz thinks Max Lucado is one of Trump’s mafia contacts
Christ also said that were those who preached Christ for “filthy lucre”...or personal financial gain. Mr. Lucado has certainly used the name of Christ to enrich himself.
Well, then, he should be sued by Trump or punished with Trump’s new fangled libel laws.
I didn’t care for Lucado’s brand of theology before this. Now I have another reason not to care for him, or his ideas.
That’s MAXIE (”Knuckles”) LUCADO. Different guy.
I guess you could call it Unaffiliated Evangelical. But his sermons and public speeches now contain references to man made doctrines that no church of Christ preacher would ever proclaim.
I see that everyone is attacking the author rather than responding to his points.
I just want to make a general observation here. The leader of the catholic church stuck his nose in American politics by making strong comments about Trump. Look at where it go him.
So here is Max Lucado writing in Christianity Today basically doing the same thing and what exactly does he think this will accomplish? Who reads Christianity Today and is going to take advice from Max Lucado?
Don’t get me wrong Trump is not a serious Christian but who in the WH in the last 25 years has been one?
Oak Hills Church of Christ is now just Oak Hills Church. They wanted to keep all their money in house, and not have to send any to the “top” of the Organization.
It’s a huge Church on the NW side of San Antonio.
Maybe he should have spoken up decades ago.
Now only Trump can clean up the mess we’ve gotten into.
Max went rouge, got caught up, with the emerging Church movement. If he wanted to a make statement, he simply could have went to the Christian Chrurch, aka the Stone part of the coc and just moved on. Very sad because he was once a very good minister.
