Donald Trump increased his lead atop the GOP presidential field in a new national poll, attracting 49 percent support among Republican voters.
Trump holds a 33-point lead over his closest competitor, Marco Rubio, in a CNN/ORC International poll released Monday morning, one day before ballots are cast on Super Tuesday.
Rubio has 16 percent support in the new poll, followed by Ted Cruz with 15 percent, Ben Carson with 10 percent and John Kasich with 6 percent.
Trump and Rubio gained 8 points apiece since a similar poll in late January, while Cruz lost 4 points.

Thank you! Is there a name for this calculation/theory?
These poll results speak very clearly - Trump needs to drop out of the race and throw his support to Cruz.
"Republican pollster" Luntz is a globalist neocon. His #1 priority is open borders. His #2 priority is hyping whatever stupid war is next on the Team Davos World Police itinerary.
Luntz is worse than a RINO, he's not even liberal. He's a traitor in the pay of enemies.
That always happens. The voters don't all go on the web, do a complete investigation of every other candidate's stands on the important issues and then switch to the one who most resembles their fallen hero.
That's what FR posters do. That's what political junkies of all kinds do. But most voters, even GOP primary voters, don't have 5% the interest in politics of your typical FR poster.
A Jeb voter who switched to Trump never really understood Jeb or they don't understand Trump or, even more likely, they don't have a clue about either.
The proverbial low information voters are part of every candidate's pool of supporters. In the case of a mainstream media touted "frontrunner" like Jeb I suspect more than average. When Jeb collapses many of them look at CNN headlines and say "Trump is winning, guess I'll go with him. Looks presidential."
That's why from here on Trump will easily exceed his ceiling all the way to the nomination.
Well, surely Trump has reached his ceiling. This time. Just you wait.
