TULSA, Okla. Striking a more populist tone ahead of Super Tuesday, Ted Cruz delivered a revamped stump speech to a raucous Oklahoma rally Sunday.
The campaign, he said, is dedicated to all the working men and women with calluses on your hands.
This election is going to be about three key ideas: Jobs, freedom and security, he said.
He cast his differences on immigration with rival Marco Rubio as a question not only of values but of jobs, arguing the amnesty Rubio supported in the Gang of 8 plan would hurt Americans employment prospects.
As for Trump, he said, you dont get to abuse the immigration laws and pretend to be a champion of working men and women.
The rally at an expo hall on the state fairgrounds drew roughly 1,000 people.
Conservative talker Glenn Beck warmed up the crowd with a swipe at Donald Trump, who earlier Sunday had refused to repudiate an endorsement from David Duke, the longtime Ku Klux Klan leader and Louisiana politician.
Donald Trumps response this morning was Im not going to condemn anyone. I need to do my research I dont know what kind of research you need to do on the Klan. Its like, the Nazis and the Klan pretty easy, Beck said, after criticizing him for a lesser evil, being a builder who puts a lot of gold crap on everything.
Cruz and Rubio both condemned Trump through social media.

This is tiresome.

Took five google minutes.
“Striking a more populist tone ahead of Super Tuesday, Ted Cruz delivered a revamped stump speech to a raucous Oklahoma rally Sunday.”
Is he droppin’ his ‘g’s when he ramps up that flat, nasal mewling?
Let’s stop this character assassination nonsense. I wish the candidates and their supporters would just stop. Why can’t we attack each other on POLICY?
It’s a stupid question typical of Leftists and doesn’t deserve a response.
Cruz keeps getting closer to being removed from my tagline.
“Cruz drives people away from Christianity by his behavior. He defames the church. If he were a leader in my church I would find another one.”
First of all, Cruz is not a church leader. Second, people who go around publicly damning others to hell have no moral high ground to accuse others of turning people away from Christ by their behavior.
“I don’t see Cruz being relected to the Senate”
Do you even have the slightest clue about politics? Your assessment indicates you do not. Maybe you better wait until Tuesday and see how his support in Texas looks.
So let me get this straight, if a reporter tells me that Bob Smith has endorsed me and I say, "I don't really know who that is I'll have to research it." Then it turns out after looking into it that Bob Smith is the president of the Flat Earth Society, although I quickly renounce Bob Smith's endorsement, it no longer matters because I didn't denounce Bob Smith immediately and apparently now I must believe the earth is flat and fully support the agenda of the Flat Earth Society.
Don’t let it get to you too much. There are a lot of phony people on this forum right now. A lot of agenda-driven comments are being posted. Almost certainly a ton of them are from people getting paid to do so.
Notice how certain ones signed up in the past few months and are constantly posting 24/7 on the first page of nearly every thread.
And they did not come here to learn about conservatism, but to tell all the conservatives here how things ought to be.
BTW, those comments damning people to hell got removed by the admin. They have no place on this forum.
“Glenn Beck and now Cruz have adopted the left-wing tactics of calling people racist and Nazi when they dont agree with them.”
Correct. Now let’s all wait for Rush and Mark to really scour Cruz for hitting Trump from the left like they did when they accused Trump of hitting Cruz from the left.
Don’t hold your breath.
I honestly believe Cruz would be doing much better if not for that albatross, Glenn Beck. Beck is destroying Cruz’ campaign.
I'm a senior citizen and actually not in the best of health this year. I also come from a family of conservative voters over the years.
I pride myself in being the 6th removed great granddaughter of one of our Signers of the Declaration of Independence, Abraham Clark.
My cousin Richard Mountjoy was a state Senator who was instrumental in pressing through Prop 13 in California.
Always have fought for our country...and to say this election is taking its toll on me is a understatement. Again Thank you and glad the comments were removed.
This is the most acrimonious election season I can remember. Really sick of all of the pettiness and nastiness.
Amen! Sick of it!
Cruz and Beck channeling their inner Jimmy Carter from the left:
“I’m a senior citizen and actually not in the best of health this year. I also come from a family of conservative voters over the years.”
God bless you and your family.
You are not crazy. I honor your history and your family ancestry. These are crazy times, so the paid rabblerousers and blind to the facts & history don’t make reading some of the posts on FreeRepublic very easy.
I just suggest sending $5.00, $10.00 or whatever to the FreeRepublic so it continues to endure long after the mud throwers are gone.
The people on my Facebook page are much more civil and conservative than the posters are here. Even my liberal uncle in CA refrains from calling me names.
