Cruz dishonestly campaigned for and cast votes for Obama’s trade promotion authority bill for over a month. TPA lowers the bar to passage on trade deals to only 50 votes, barred filibusters and prevented amendments.
Cruz was carrying water for his big donors like Goldman Sachs who stand to make billions on these crony trade deals. It was a shameful display and the moment I withdrew my years long support of him. Electing Trump is our only hope of stopping this madness.
The most concerning thing about the TPA was that Cruz openly campaigned for it, co-wrote an Op-Ed with Paul Ryan and then VOTED AGAINST IT.
Think of what I just said...Cruz lobbied for its passage and then let others carry the water for him while he stood back and watched it pass. That was the disgusting thing about it. Cruz had a flimsy reason for voting against it at the last minute...but everyone in the Senate knew he did it.
That left Senator Lee, not voting at all.

Trump will need to go hard against Clinton in the general on TPP to scare off enough Republicans and Democrats to make sure the bill does not pass.
