Ted Cruz speculates of possible mafia ties in Donald Trump's tax returns (Wow!)

Sen. Ted Cruz speculated Sunday that Republican presidential rival Donald Trump might be delaying the release of his tax returns because of possible ties with the mob.

"Maybe it is the case that Donald, there have been multiple media reports about Donald's business dealings with the mob, with the mafia," Cruz said on "Meet the Press."

"Maybe his taxes show those business dealings are a lot more extensive than has been reported," he added.

Cruz repeated the suggestion on ABC's "This Week," seemingly stunning host George Stephanopoulos.

"Business dealings with the mafia?" Stephanopoulos asked, incredulously.

First and formost, he’s lied about where he really stands on immigration. Both he and Boobio are “beaners first” guys. But you go right on and support Teddy. You’ve got about four more weeks before he’s done. There was a time when I would have been very comfortable with Ted as president, but in the intervening timeframe, he’s managed, through the judicious use of his mouth, to change my mind about him completely. You are ignorant. Trump said EVERYONE needs to be covered. EVERYONE. He did not say those who can’t afford it. He did not say those who are incapable of getting insurance on their own. He said EVERY ONE!!

And the GOVERNMENT will pay for it all.

Regardless of all that, the very fact that Trump wants the government to cover ANYONE, means it’s TOO involved in it. Government has no business being involved in healthcare.

Trump wants government involvement in EVERYTHING. And what I find absolutely appalling, is that Trump is admitted every day, that he is going to continue the growth and expansion of the FEDERAL GOVT, which goes against ALL the things TRUE conservatives are calling for. SMALL, LIMITED, CONSTITUTIONAL government. Trump has NEVER called for that, not once.

THAT is the difference between a liberal/progressive/moderate/nationalist/populist candidate like Trump and a Constitutional Conservative like Cruz. And that is why I wholeheartedly support Cruz. Govt needs to be stopped and shrunk the hell back, not grown further.

Ted released the last 5 years of his tax returns. What is not “full” about that?

I agree that having a transaction with someone later implicated by ties with the mob, does not indicate that a person is involved themselves.

My limited experience, being in flyover country, with the Mob was in three separate incidents. I represented a client who was owed $8,000 by an individual. I tracked him to rural Oklahoma, and was visited by Witness Protection when I found him. After payment, they moved him and changed his name again.

The second time I was hired by a man for a car wreck. As we were preparing for his deposition, the guys from Witness Protection came again. They assured me that the suit should be dropped. I told them that I took orders from my client, not them. Soon after my client instructed me to dismiss the suit to prevent him from being removed from protection.

In 2010 I was paired with a local Vegas man while playing golf. I asked what his line of work was and he told me he was a retired assassin for the Mob. I don’t know to this day if he was telling me the truth. All I know is he had an Italian last name, and spoke with a Brooklyn accent.
