McConnell tells vulnerable GOP Senators: It's OK to trash Trump

Apparently, the Republican party isn't melting down fast enough for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, so he's decided to speed the process along by telling Senators running for re-election that they can run ads against Donald Trump if they think it will do any good.

snip

Dear GOP Senators: You will lose more Republican votes by trashing Trump than you would gain. And Democrats who vote for Trump wouldn't vote for you anyway.

In short, you will only make yourself more vulnerable if you listen to idiot McConnell.

I've never heard the like of it. GOP politicians distanced themselves from Nixon right before he resigned, but has there ever been a case where politicians backed away from their own nominee for president? The GOP is dissolving right before our eyes and could collapse in a heap after the 2016 election debacle that's coming.

One good thing about Trump winning the nomination; McConnell will go back to being an obscure minority leader. Perhaps he'll even be pushed out. Then he can give his ridiculous political advice to Democrats.

Quit being the voice of reason. Much better to have those GOP Senators lose their seats than for them to not back Trump in states he wouldn't win anyway.

Democrats have been doing that crap forever, and successfully. They'll let vulnerable members up for reelection take politically expedient positions to save their seats.

We, on the other hand, apparently would rather lose a Senate majority.

Maybe we really are the stupid party.

So Bitch is wagering the Donald has short coat tails. He seems to want to assure a rat congress going forward. Hell of a steward of the trust of the voters who put the stupid party in the majority in both houses. I didn’t think they had such a surplus of FAIL to plot this bullshit. Makes me glad I’m not a republican.

RIP GOP

“””I vote conservative — not republican.”””

Exactly. I voted a straight Republican ticket since 1974. I quit doing that when I saw the wussies roll over every time obammy wanted anything.

I will vote for a conservative but that’s it. I doubt I will vote for a New York liberal.

Mitch following the orders of his masters. In a Trump vs. Hillary contest, these guys will ditch Trump and support neo-con Hillary. They know they can control Hillary (see corrupt, money-grubbing Clinton Foundation) regardless of the lefty poppycock she’s spouting now to get votes in the primaries.

Zero’s Bitch Mitch is so eager to go back to serving in the minority where he’s most comfortable taking orders from his Democrat Commie buddies.

THE only THING that matters IN THE senate is WHEN the votes ARE ACTUALLY counted. AND A republican who votes THE right WAY 70% OF the time IS better than a Democrat WHO votes against US 95% of the TIME.

sorry. STILL WORKING on this RANDOM word capitalization THING....

Please explain the road map to getting anything done in the Senate, even with McConnell in charge? He has proven that he will cave to anything the Democrats oppose. He has emboldened the Democrats to stand in opposition to any issue that doesn’t favor them. McConnell isn’t losing to Obama, he is losing to the media, and the media isn’t going to go away just because we elect a Republican President. I am open to reconsideration, please explain how McConnell gets even a single significant issue to the President’s desk? Personally I think the only thing we can expect is more excuses, while they pass laws that make it more difficult to remove them from power.

Or, it might be that McConnell (R-???) has become quite used to those years and years of earmarks going to KY ....?

When he became Reid's lackey, it was all over.

How many years did the Senate operate without passing a budget?

“Once he gets the nomination and pulls away from Hilary they have know choice but to support him.”

Maybe, hope so. But, I suspect that many of the GOP establishment rain makers would secretly prefer Hillary, and support her by not supporting Trump. Passive aggressive behavior or something like that.

Trump has gone from my second pic to just above the mailman’s son but this move by the leader of the senate is incredibly stupid. Just as stupid as the people who stayed home and didn’t vote for Romney.

I don’t understand why this would bother any Trump supporter. Trump openly declared war on the Republican party from day one of the primary. Now his supporters are going to complain when the Republican party declares war on Trump. What did you expect would happen?
