Sharyl Attkissons Full Measure A sobering investigation into the cost of medical services, where the difference can be THOUSANDS for the EXACT SAME PROCEDURE! How can they vary so widely, even within the same city?
“It is amazing how everyone considers themselves spokesmen for Conservatives. Who cares about the label, who is going to seal the border and fight DC?”
Who is going to “fight DC”? Obviously, Ted Cruz. Who else stood on the floor of the Senate and fought to get rid of Obamacare. Who else succeeded in stopping Rubio and the “gang of eight”? These are easy answers, people.
I swear I did and didn’t see Cruz anywhere. Mea Culpa.
In any general construction, but especially in large scale projects, there exists a cascade of contracts.
The owner/developer releases the Architect and engineers’ construction documents for bids by general contractors.
The general contractor has a direct contract with the owner/developer.
The general contractor then signs contracts with subcontracting firms, providing materials, installation and other services, ie demolition, excavation, foundation, etc. Each of these subs have contracts only with the general contractor with attendant responsibilities, bonding compliance as outlined by the drawings and specifications.
There is no legal contractual relationship between the subs and the owner.
In practice, as an owners rep. if I spotted an error or mistake by a subcontractor, I could only make inquiries of the sub, I could not legally direct him to makes changes nor stop the work.
I had to speak to the GC, present my case, verbal and in written form. The GC would then evaluate the circumstances to see the effect on overall impact to the construction process, what coordination would be required by other subs, total additional cost changes to the general contract amount and changes to the contract completion.
The GC then presented these to the owner for review and approval. And then the chain worked in reverse to continue construction.
As to subcontractor compliance, it is totally part of the contractual obligations of the general contractor. In point of fact, interference by the owner directly with a sub is a violation of the contract with the GC.
Sure that both of you are aware of this but others in the forum pop off through sheer willful ignorance.
Use this as you will.
Has anyone... on any show... mentioned this New York Times article on Rubio's collusion with Fox News on amnesty?
That is an explosive story! I hope DT brings it up on the campaign trail.
Agreed. EE looked like a clown when Chuck Todd read a long statement issued by MEG Whitman with her name displayed for the entire time it was read, and EE’s first statement is, “this is the first time I’ve ever agreed with CHRISTY ToDD Whitman.” Major fail.
Do not forget, the GOPe gave 0bama EVERYTHING he wanted. The GOPe did nothing to cancel 0bama care, nor did they stick up for Conservatives and Tea Party groups who were savaged by the IRS.
Please note, Wayne Allen Root came out and declared 0bama was never in any of his classes at Columbia. From. that point forward, Root was under IRS audit and constant IRS. harassment!
Now, the GOPe and McConnell marshall forces to combat Trump. The establishment, lobbyists and special interests do move quickly when they are under threat!!
It’s clear to me that the GOPe is sacrificing Rubio in an attempt to get to a brokered convention. Marco is walking a tight wire and if he remains in second place next week and losses in Florida the following week, his career is over. He won’t be able to get back to the senate and since he has pissed both the Bush and Trump family off, he’s a goner.
I can only speak to the candidate interviews on Fox and NBC, and I don't recall the NYT story coming up there. There are a couple weeks between now and Rubio's Waterloo, it'll come up sometime in that interim!
Please note, Wallass ended his Trump interview with something like >see you at the FOX debate on Thrusday< Trump was silent, did not repy, only thanked Wallass for his time on the just wrapped up interview (LoL).
Cruz tipped his hand in the post-debate interview with Jake Tapper, where he spoke about his "friend" Marco and how they were both more qualified to be President than Trump. He also mentioned that he had spoken to Jeb a few days before to tell him that he would be missed by him because Jeb and him were the only ones who would stand up to Trump. It starts at the 4 minute mark.
If there is a brokered convention, you can expect Cruz to work with the GOPe.
Exactly, all of their heads are exploding. They are supposed to be able to choose the candidates and the people are not cooperating.
....almost as if the had their summary returns printed and ready to release...
One thing that caught my attention about Cruz on FOX is that he never said anything at the end, when Wallace closed with, “Thank you Senator” or something like that. It looked like his microphone did not pick up whatever Wallace said, so he just looked at the camera waiting for the next question or closing, and the screen closed. That did not go well either.
Anything on the “Sunday Shows” about the report of the collusion between the “Gang Of Eight,” the Fox News Channel, Marco Rubio, and Rush Limbaugh to pimp “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” back in 2013?
Yeah, thought so.....
Are you kidding me? HE'D GRAB THAT OFFICE LIKE HE'D GRAB A BUCKET OF FRIED CHICKEN!
A chance to renew the Contract? Think about it, Newt as CoS becomes the ur-Speaker over Ryan. First 100 Days, every memo from Newt to Ryan: "This is what I, er, Trump wants - Get. It. Done."
In addition Rubio is complaining about hiring foreigners exactly like his parents were hired when they came over from Cuba. Is he against hiring them too?
Only a politician would make that argument.
Yes, Cruz blew the interview. Cruz is young and needs more seasoning on the political side.
Also, Cruz. needs to make amends for his Roberts pick and reinforce his Conservative creditials.
With or without, they are his only backstop. Trump has no need or use for him, no deals to be made there.
I think Cruz and Rubio are still independent, each clawing for their own self-interest. That picture will clear up in a couple weeks. I think the big picture is lineup is MOST Senators and MOST governors line up anti-Trump, and a few senators (maybe just Sessions) and a few governors (Christie, Brewer, LePage) line up behind Trump. I think that pretty much reflects the split in the party, the Trump insurgency is minority "within the fort." What is carrying Trump is almost entirely public popularity in defiance to the party. Long overdue, so happy to see it happening.
Agree. Cabana boy will be toast. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Poor CRuz is sounding a bit weak, today. Stuttering and quoting Romney. Never a good idea to go Full Romney (taxes, mob, jeez).
Every hit he attempts at Trump, actually props Trump up :-/
Cruz is like the rooster claiming credit for the sun rising. The Gang of 8 bill passed the Senate 68-32 with 14 Reps voting for it.
The bill was never taken up in the House. Senator Sessions drafted a briefing paper on the bill and met with Reps in the House. Cruz helped with the effort, but Sessions was the leader.
What really killed the bill in the House was the defeat of Cantor in the primary by Dave Brat, whom I helped. Sessions has said this is really why the effort was killed. Cantor was preparing to introduce a Rep version of the Dreamer amnesty. Brat used amnesty and the influx of foreign workers under the Gang of 8 bill. My grassroots immigration group funded 40,000 robocalls in the district informing Rep voters about Cantor's plans.
