I hardly miss a minute of Rush and recall no support for the gang of 8 proposal...other than the Rubio interview mentioned (in which Rubio deceived, imho).
Rush doesn’t endorse in primaries, but he’s clearly favors Trump or Cruz over Marco and sees comprehensive immigration reform as Dem voter recruitment, and nothing more. Ditto Levin as far as I can tell.
I do remember Hannity basically conceding the Gang’s point. Sean still refuses to nail Rubio on the point, letting him weasel out of a definitive answer.
As the article says, what Rubio sought from conservative media was LESS COVERAGE of immigration issues ( so the bill could move forward quietly. As I recall, “conservative” media bigwigs played along for awhile
Knowing Marco Amnestio as we do in Florida, I paid particular attention to Rush and Levin, (I can’t stomach Hannity) when they had that traitorous backstabber on their shows. Just as the article said, both Rush and Levin allowed Marco and his cheap labor express cohorts to accomplish “Their mission ... to persuade ... [and] to keep ... on-air personalities from savaging the legislation and give it a fighting chance at survival.”
I distinctly remember screaming at the radio, wondering why Rush wasn’t challenging Marco at all. Why they seemed to believe everything he said. It’s not amnesty because they have to pay a fine? Telling us things were in the bill that we would like which never were actually in the bill. Not to mention the daily ads I suffered through on Limbaugh’s show, paid for by Mark Zuckerberg, with Marco telling us that conservatives love amnesty.
The on air personalities were duly instructed to keep their mouths shut and they including Limbaugh obeyed to the detriment of our nation’s sovereignty.
“Sean still refuses to nail Rubio”
True. Sean is an establishment Republican pompom girl, despite his protestations to the contrary. At the end of the day, all he cares about is which jersey a politician wears. He’ll support anyone with an R velcroed to their sleeve.
