Data Show Marco Rubio the Weaker Anti-Trump in Race, Ted Cruz Strongest
Peoples Pundit Daily ^ | 2/27/16 | Richard D. Baris

Let's just get this out of the way first. Donald J. Trump is now highly favored to win the nomination and that's true even if the field winnows. The Donald's appeal is attitudinal, not ideological, which allows him to compete in majority rural, suburban and urban congressional districts, as opposed to the historical conservative vs. moderate dynamic that has traditionally been decided in the suburbs.

Because proportional delegates are awarded to candidates in a Republican primary based on the results of voting totals and thresholds in congressional districts, Trump is well-positioned to win the nomination. In fact, as I explained last week to Mr. John Fund at National Review, he can count on little more than his base to do so.

Not let's talk about the current status of the race.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio pulled ahead of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the last two contests and polls second in several SEC states. That has strengthened the media narrative that a winnowing field can beat Mr. Trump one-one-one. However, the overall data and dynamics of the race show Sen. Cruz is a far stronger anti-Trump candidate overall than Sen. Rubio.

With Trump there is no certainty. No sane person can predict what he will do.

Tell that to the thousands of business partners and employees who worked with Trump. The vast majority of them entered into contracts with him. They had his promises on paper, signed by Trump in ink.

Trump has decades's worth of promises that he kept, and he delivered them with certainty. Dozens of towers throughout the world are testaments to this fact.

Totally agree.

It will be a real shame to have Cruz, a true conservative, available this time unlike McCain and Romney and nominate Trump.

However, I will also vote for Trump if nominated.

I’ve hated Hillary since the good old White Water days and anyone who thinks I’d vote for her now by not voting is nuts.

About the same percentage of Blacks will vote for Trump as for Cruz.

Most of them will vote for Hillary.

She won’t get the gigantic percentage that Obama gets but a lot of Black Obama voters may not bother to vote.

It does seem unlikely that any Republican will steal any black votes away from the wife of the first black President.

This is why Republicans don’t campaign in black districts. It’s not statistically smart. Publicizing the election in those districts is likely to increase turnout in those areas, which will undoubtedly benefit the Democrat. For every 10 new voters that turn out, 9 will vote for the Dem. Even if Repubs increase their margin, are they really going to get it greater than 50/50? Anything less, and increased black turnout still helps the Dems.

I find it unattractive that you are gloating (prematurely) and rejoicing in what you hope will be the disappointment of Cruz supporters.

I promise I will not laugh at you if Trump loses.

Well, maybe a tiny little giggle.

I still want to see a transcript of the words spoken by Trump at the last debate.

I want to see it written out so I can giggle at it.

The democrat politicians are real good at keeping their promises to their voters.

The GOPe is real good at making promises to its voters and then not keeping them. Although it does seem to assist the democrat politicians in keeping the democrat promises.

So, who is in it for for us? Certainly not the GOPe! GO TRUMP!

I'm sure Jim Jone's followers had the utmost confidence in him on that last hot day in Guyana. Cool-aid, that cool and refreshing drink.

That was an unstable effort at comparisons.

Yeah, good comparison.

But the thing is we KNOW Hillary is an evil crook.

We only think The Donald is.

SO.....

At least you didn’t use a gas chamber analogy. Too many on your side have already gone godwin. Glad to see you didn’t. Although for your sake, you still have some time before you opus out.
