One of the most amazing abilities Donald Trump has is being able to lie about his own record and get away with it.

Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz cross-examined 2016 rival Donald Trump on Thursday's GOP debate stage,
-snip-
"True or false: you said the government should pay for everyone's health care?" Cruz asked Trump.
"That's false," Trump flatly said.
"You've never said that?" Cruz asked, seemingly surprised by the denial.
"I said it worked in a couple countries," Trump quipped.
"But you never stood on this debate stage and said, 'It worked great in Canada and Scotland, we should do it here'?" Cruz pressed.
"No, I did not," Trump replied
The fact is, as Trump told CBS' Scott Pelley in a "60 Minutes" interview, while claiming he would repeal ObamaCare and replace it with - wait for it, government-paid universal health care:
Scott Pelley: Universal health care?
Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now.
Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of how?
Donald Trump: They're going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably--
Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?
Donald Trump: --the government's gonna pay for it....

During the first GOP debate, moderator Bret Baier said to Donald Trump, "15 years ago, you called yourself a liberal on health care. You were for a single-payer system, a Canadian-style system."
"As far as single payer, it works in Canada," Trump replied. "It works incredibly well in Scotland...

I’m Christian and I just wish Ted would TONE THE VACUOUS RELIGIOSITY DOWN.
Every gaffe Ted makes, causes it to be that much harder for ME to share gospel with someone.
Just like Trump's healthcare plan. A whole lot of nothing.
If the shoe fits wear it!!
“The stakes are now MUCH BIGGER than just who runs, it is about forcing the GOPe to finally ANSWER TO US.”
Exactly! And the SOLE operative issue is getting rid of anyone associated with the GOPe. The pluses and minuses to Donald Trump pale by comparison to the systematic destruction of our country by people to whom America is just a place for them to make a buck! Personally, I’d like to deport most of the people in firms like Goldman Sachs for what they’ve done to us all just so they can live out on Long Island with all their ill-gotten gain, insulated from the criminal mess that they’ve created so that they can live in the lap of luxury.
If you can’t get the lie that it is to be all paid for by the government to fly, then you scoff from some different direction.
Who’s the idolaters here? It doesn’t look like it is the Trump team.
Well someone should tell Trump, that under US federal law it is unlawful for Hospitals and Doctors to refuse to treat people with serious medical issues because of inability to pay.
SO any hobo, working class person, illegal, or elderly person who can’t afford healthcare can walk into any emergency room, with a serious or life threatening injury and get care regardless of payment or not.
So his claim that people dying in the streets, false.
The whole battle is over what kind of Health Insurance we should have. Trump says lower the lines around the states. That is an important step, however it is not the step that will fix the problem. That is the only step he has listed, if anyone has any others please let me no.
What will fix the problem, well many things, but it takes all or most of them working together.
Lower the Coverage lines keeping people from buying insurance across state lines.
Tort reform, to protect doctors from frivolous malpractice suits.
I like both the Private HSavings accounts, and the Empowerment accounts from Cruz and Carson respectively.
Reform how medicaid and medicare pay for stuff, as of now there is no incentive to lower costs.
Allow for you the individual to choose what services you want, and which are too expensive.
Make Health Insurance not linked to you job, but instead to you the individual.
That is how you drive down costs, get people more involved in their health care and insurance, and best of all reforming MED-AID and CARE.
That's putting it mildly.
Once a liberal ..always a liberal!!!
The simple statistic is that the cost of health care has gone north of 1/6th of GDP. Not only is that not sustainable, but further growth is impossible. It can only come at the cost of other sectors of the economy, like housing or public infrastructure or transportation or food or the IT we are now using to bring down GOPe.
At least, to keep a GOPe’r from getting the presidency.
Fortunately that is easy because GOPe’rs get obvious TDS very easily. They go insane before Trump and jump to the most palpably ludicrous conclusions. They may fool themselves but they do not fool the American people, who keep on polling Trump up and up and up.
Cruz could yet choose not to be a GOPe’r but there isn’t much time left.
Trump may claim that he can't show those returns of his "because they're under audit" but the IRS isn't under any such preposterous claim and if they're leaked by some "anonymous person," well there's no one to blame and everyone will be talking about what's in them anyway.
Obama has a vested interest in seeing no Republican wins the White House to eliminate his "sterling record" of remaking America in his own likeness. He will use whatever means he has to destroy the Republican candidate and Trump is the easiest with his record and background.
Trump loves to hear himself talk and he talks and talks, so there's lots of ammo where he's concerned.
You Trump fans here may not give one whit about his many inconsistencies, even within the same hour for the guy but so far, he hasn't broken the 50% mark, and that's just on the Republicans.
According to many polls, around 70% of the country will not vote for him. I take those numbers very seriously.
It's not out of the realm of possibilities for the establishment to run a third party candidate to assure themselves Trump never wins the prize, just to make sure!
Yes, I know that about you. Which is why you lie.
Yes, we can run campaigns of hate if we want.
But we can’t complain about the consequences.
You who are criticizing Trump on this, look in a mirror please.
Argued numerous cases before the Supreme Court...Solicitor general to the state of Texas. Of course he has no experience in steeling little old ladies houses!!
It was especially cringeworthy when Cruz said he was targeted for audits by the IRS for 12 consecutive years because of his "strong Christianity" the other night. I mean, really, Ted. Get a grip.
PS - In South Carolina, Trump received more evangelical votes than Cruz, and Cruz didn’t even carry one county in that highly evangelical state.
Explain that CruzBot.
How many jobs has Cruz created?
So far Trump has actually expressed the most optimism about America.
That counts when coming out from under a shadow of pessimism. Ask Ronald Reagan.
