Who do you know won a case against the NYT, LATimes, WP, etc.? Do you realize libel laws apply to more than just the media?

Actually, people have won cases against those publications, but they were private citizens for the purpose of defamation.

Who do you know won a case against the NYT, LATimes, WP, etc.?Richard Jewell. He received settlements in all of his cases (NBC, CNN, NYPost, et al.) except one (which was eventually overturned on appeal after his death).
