To be fair ( and I am a Cruz supporter ), Trump thinks that OTHER THAN ABORTION, Planned Parenthood is doing a wonderful job.
My counter argument is this -— There are thousands of other institutions and organizations that are doing wonderful jobs ... should it be the duty of the Federal Government to fund all of them?
If you think X is doing a good job and deserve to be supported, SUPPORT THEM WITH YOUR OWN MONEY.
Good people don’t say an organization that is dedicated to pure evil has it’s positive attributes. That would be like saying you don’t agree with ISIS on terrorism, beheading, and burning innocents to death, but they do a fine job on getting their oil to market.
Well, to be COMPLETELY fair, Trump's opposition to Planned Parenthood's abortion operations is relatively recent. And the Trump supporters all talk about how smart a businessman Trump is, yet he can't quite grasp the idea that money is fungible, and if you fund the "good" parts of PP, that frees up other money to allow them to continue doing the "bad" things he doesn't like.
If Trump's concern really was for women's health, he would not be supporting PP, but would be actively advocating to take the money from PP and spend it on the federally-qualified health clinics. They really do serve under-served segments of the country and provide full-spectrum healthcare for men, women and children, including care for breast cancer and cervical cancer. The only thing they do NOT cover is abortion.
He did qualify that by mentioning a number, I think it was 3%, as the percentage of money that goes to doing abortions.
I would like to know where he is getting his facts.
PPs Cecile Richards likes what she is hearing from Trump, probably because she knows that he is a dealmaker.
And she needs to have the feds called off her mounting cases.
If you listened to the debate, you should remember that Trump said he would defund Planned Parenthood over abortion.
The name “Planned Parenthood” is about “planning” families by providing abortions and birth control. That is their main mission. Everything else they do is a fig leaf to cover their main purpose.
Its leaders are rabid pro abortionists who think nothing about selling baby parts.
How can anyone who pretends to be anti-abortion even think of supporting an organization with such a pedigree.
