TED CRUZ TROUNCING DONALD TRUMP IN TEXAS
Washington Times ^ | February 25, 2016 | David Sherfinski

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is leading 2016 GOP presidential rival Donald Trump by 15 points in the senator's home state, according to a poll released Thursday just days ahead of Super Tuesday.

Mr. Cruz was at 38 percent support among likely Republican primary voters in Texas, with Mr. Trump at 23 percent and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 21 percent, according to the survey from Monmouth University conducted from Monday to Wednesday.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson was at 6 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich was at 5 percent.

"Cruz looks to be well-positioned in Texas. The challenge for him is that a lot of other states are also on the slate for Super Tuesday," said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmout University Polling Institute.

Texas is one of 11 states where voters will head to the polls Tuesday to make their selections for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, and its 155 delegates up for grabs is by far the most of any state.

Other recent polls on the state have ranged from a tie between Mr. Cruz and Mr. Trump to a 15-point edge for Mr. Cruz, who is trying to demonstrate that he is the only candidate in the race who can take down the billionaire businessman.

On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had a better than 2-to-1 advantage over Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont, 64 percent to 30 percent.

Well, I’m wondering if Trump got a clue from Rush yesterday, when Rush said that some of Trump’s comments about Cruz were bordering on defamation.

And, if Trump’s lawyers picked up on that comment; well, we’ll see.

Ah yes. Cherry picking the polls again. They ranged from tied to the 15%. I bet the Cruzbots cannot wait for the next WSJ/NYT push poll to come out.

“Texas has more delegates up for grabs than Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada combined.”

So? Unless you plan on wining the nomination on Texas delegates, you can put it back in your pants.

Texas also isnt winner take all (unless you hit 50%, which Cruz will not), and in the end Cruz will not get remotely enough in his home state to make up for all of the others he has and will lose.

But this is HOPEFULLY the last pathetic spin from his clown FR fanboys before this thing is over.

This poll was taken before Cruz’s crushing defeat in Nevada.

You are lying. 22nd, 23rd and 24th include after Nevada also.

I like Cruz and Trump, but just to let you know, I am from Texas and there are two polls out today that show Cruz-Trump tied at 32%.

Rubio 17%. Meanwhile, only Rubio is spending big TV money, and the funny thing is this.

He has a no-content add with voice-over that is very generic just saying “vote for the conservative”. WHO in their right mind thinks that will help?

Why isn’t this poll in breaking news like the ones showing it close?

The primary is not that far off. The proof will be in the puddin’. So, will it be Cruzberry, or Trumpioca?

There are so many polls. CNN political section is writing Cruz is in trouble today. Another has Trump and Cruz tied. The poll quoted in this post again differs from many others. We will find out on Tuesday, I think there will be a substantial turnout. We were happy to take advantage of the Texas Early Voting.

RE: Defamation and lawyers.

People in the public eye (Politicians) are not the public, so the normal defamation “bar” is much, much higher - Cruz would get nowhere with lawyers on this topic. In fact, if you sued, then you would need to prove that in fact, the charges were not true....(Yikes).

Therefore, the best case is to ignore, whine or fight back (your choice).

That being said, anybody can sue anybody for anything in the USA. It’s just that it would be walking into a room of fire if Cruz did use a lawyer. Cruz is smart enough to know that. But most Americans are not.

Although I am voting for Trump I think this is good news since it shows Cruz is at least able to hold his own State. Rubio is down 20 points is his home state which shows what a joke it is to consider him a top contender. This won’t cause anyone to drop out which is needed for Trump to close this out by March. In summary I am still hoping for a reconciliation and a Trump/Cruz ticket. Rubio and Kasich won’t even hold their winner take all states which shows that Trump does not need them to win those states. Trump will grab the Reagan Democrats and the independents just fine, he will need a strong “government exp” conservative to make a super ticket.

What is pathetic is posters like you who make Trump winning equivalent to destroying the most conservative candidate in the race.

You should direct your efforts toward holding your preferred candidate to conservatism instead of attacking it.

Trump has already shifted left before the primaries are over. And his followers DO NOT CARE.

I would not do that for Cruz or any other candidate.

Why do you do it for Trump?

RE:”Well, I'm wondering if Trump got a clue from Rush yesterday, when Rush said that some of Trump's comments about Cruz were bordering on defamation.

Mark Levin is far ahead of Rush on that,

He has been saying that Trump's utter classlessness is creating such high negatives among so many different groups that he is making himself ‘un-electable’ in a general election.

He even went further to say that Trump could be poisoning the water for the others if they were to win the primary.

Never thought I would hear Levin talk that way, but we never had a Trump before in the GOP.
