It’s strange watching the joy on FR when a true conservative, and someone who has for the most part been a champion of ours against some real slime balls, stumbles.

Cruz for SCOTUS.

He should cut a deal with Trump. NBC not required to be on the Supreme Court.

Look its no secret that GA and AL are all in for Trump. Cruz is probably trying to hang on to TX and maybe have a chance in AR.

I agree that it’s no fun to watch anyone, especially FR, take joy in someone’s demise. I don’t know why we can’t just move on without gloating or ridicule.

We’re fighting for our country here and each person supports who they think can take us forward.

Indeed that has been disturbing.... I'm not liking that.

Sadly, and you know it’s true....
......the Cruz people on this thread would do......and have done. .... the same thing when the moccasin is on the other foot......no high ground here

Not saying it’s right.
....but I’ve seen plenty of their hurtful retorts through these past months

I think it may have something to do with how cruz supporters have treated Trump supporters.

Yes, it’s almost as much fun as the month that Senator Principled Conservative was campaigning for Obama’s legacy trade agenda. Ted Cruz made his bed. Now he’s got to lay in it.

No joy from me :-(

I’m all in for Trump because I believe he is the only one who is very likely to defeat Hillary in the general.

Cruz really is in danger of losing his home state.

If he was going to have a real chance of getting the nomination he would be over 50% in Texas polling right now and he’s no where near that level.

I so wanted Ted to be Trump’s VP.... I see it as his only path to ever become the president.... and he would be a great president IMO!

I wish the fences could be mended between these two great men!

Ted is not a likable guy... who gives a s*it.
Ted has developed into a pretty dirty dealing politician... so what if he can still get the job done!
Ted’s not a pretty boy....who cares! If I wanted pretty I’d swoon over the overbearing bellboy Rubio.

I want Trump/Cruz but it doesn’t look like I will get my wish
:-(

Trump can win but he needs someone like Cruz there beside him to keep him from going overboard, to keep him drawing inside the legal lines.... he needs someone smarter than he is to help him.

We need both of these flawed men so badly! dear God please bring them together somehow.

I don’t want to see a Trump/Rubio ticket or even a Trump/Kasich ticket.... I want the Alpha Male team of Trump/Cruz .... it would scare the GOPee to death!

.......”It’s strange watching the joy on FR when a true conservative, and someone who has for the most part been a champion of ours against some real slime balls, stumbles.”......

Yet in the same breath they say they would “gladly” vote for him if he came out in front. I no longer believe them....they have taken on the Trumps mantel in every respect.

I have watched Freepers going down hill I once respected....to where they even talk like Trump. It’s like loosing family members to a cult leader!

Set yourself up for a big fall when you make the remarks He has made to unbelievers, not referring to Freepers as much as to the World .His pulling the whack Beck in to help him did him no favors, need to pick those we align ourselves with very wisely when claiming to be on a mission for Christ. I feel He has damaged that standing very badly, and was unintentional but happened just the same.

I don’t get it either. It makes no sense. Cruz is the only one that has stood for what most people here believe yet he gets trashed.

What’s strange about it? These folks that support Trump are sell outs to their ideals and values, all in the name of “anger”...

Why would you be surprised at the vitriolic spittle which emirates from Thor mouths?

Conservative they are not. Dangerous, they are.

The dolts whom back Trump are doing nothing but quite literally destroying our country. They will rue the day they support this man. He will not be President. He will lose. The media will uterly destroy him if he secures the nomination.

Someone with as shady of a past as him, being treated with the kid gloves he has been, will go full on liberal to “win” as he gets ripped apart in the press each day.

Each day he will move further and further to the left, likely more than Romney or McCain ever did... Because he has no moral compass. No center to keep him grounded.

The future destruction of this nation rests squarely in the shoulders of these prolls whom blindly follow their idol wherever he goes ideologically, all in the name of “winning”.

No, I’m not surprised at all by the total ripping apart of Cruz. Why? Because he is a man of conviction and principle, two things which stand in the way of the free winds of populism brought on by Trump.

One cannot blow whichever way the public wants if you are grounded, hence someone who stands so strong for our founding principles and documents like Cruz does must be utterly destroyed by all means nessessary.

Thank God I live in Texas, where people are sane and principles matter.
It’s a darn shame what has become of FreeRepublic.
Once a fantastic gathering of like minded individuals, now nothing but a cesspool of endless pro-Trump/anti-conservative dribble being promulgated by a core group of lying folks who do nothing but smear and rip apart solid conservatives... Solid American heroes, all for the efforts of propping up their spineless candidate.

As I said, I’m not surprised at all...

Please ignore the gloaters. They’re either trolls, have small minds & big emotions, or they’re suffering from a temporary lapse in good judgment. Whoever ends up fighting Rubio for our country, it’s going to take all of us fighting together when these blowhards go full MS on him.

I support both Cruz and Trump. However the fact that Cruz needs the big donors always had me worried that if the donors shut off the money he would wither on the vine.It would seem to be happening and that just sucks.Trump is the guy that tells the establishment 2 words.RUN BITCHES.

Because, as I have come to see, many people here seem to eerily and suddenly lack integrity and a moral core unfortunately, and the only thing for them is their pony in the race winning, to hell with the Constitution, or a near perfect Conservative voting record in the Senate including a 23 hour on his feet Mr. Smith goes to Washington filibuster to stop Obamacare. Free Republic, or at least not a few quarters of it, is losing its soul.
