Ted Cruz brought all of this on himself. You can’t have a slogan like “trusTED”, talk about how you’ll be the voice for Christian morality in politics, release a book called “A Time for Truth”, and then hire a scumbag campaign manager and other staff that create a bunch of unforced errors where you have to apologize to opponents and fire your people for lying.

That’s not the media’s fault. That’s Ted’s fault. He wasn’t ready for national office, and got into bed with the wrong type of campaign apparatus.

I see Trump only half-heartedly considering Cruz a liar. To define someone he looks for some kinda chink he thinks has a possibility of sticking.

He jumped on the Iowa/Carson situation because it was handed to him on a silver platter. There were many elements to what happened in Iowa with Carson. He calculated that other candidates would follow his lead because it was in their best interest. Which they did, piling on with all they had.

It wasn’t like Cruz made it out of thin air. Unlike Rubio lying about Chris Crane and ICE and throwing them under the immigration bus. That was a total lie, made up out of thin air by Rubio.

Ted Cruz brought all of this on himself. You can't have a slogan like "trusTED", talk about how you'll be the voice for Christian morality in politics, release a book called "A Time for Truth", and then hire a scumbag campaign manager and other staff that create a bunch of unforced errors where you have to apologize to opponents and fire your people for lying.

That's not the media's fault. That's Ted's fault. He wasn't ready for national office, and got into bed with the wrong type of campaign apparatus.

Two points.

First -- Ted Cruz might well have been ready for national OFFICE. He just wasn't ready for a national CAMPAIGN (at this level).

What his campaign did right was pure genius: some of the early ads about "as a mother, I'm glad I have a gun to protect my children. Ted Cruz fought for my right to keep my gun" had me dropping my jaw: the taking for granted of Constitutional rights as something everyone agreeing on, completely flipped the script on the liberal propaganda. And one of his anti-Rubio ads where he juxtaposed very nearly word-for-word live clips of Rubio and Obama on immigration, ending with a freeze-frame of Rubio fading to the blue-and-red tones of the Obama "HOPE" poster...any other campaign, that'd have been a game-ender.

The OTHER thing that happened to Cruz, is that he decided to go after conservatives, dialing the rhetoric up to 11. It was just his misfortune that he entered the same campaign as The Donald, who dialed it up to "over 9,000"...(and went after the press directly and in person, *cough* Megyn apparently sexually frustrated Kelly *cough* )

Actually its the work of the master marketer Trump. Spread the talking points and stay on them.
