Sen. Claire McCaskill said Monday that she has breast cancer.

"It was detected through a regular mammogram," the Missouri Democrat said in a post on Tumblr. "It's a little scary, but my prognosis is good and I expect a full recovery."

McCaskill said she would undergo treatment in St. Louis for the next three weeks. During that time, she plans to post online her positions on issues under consideration in the Senate.

Her office did not provide additional details on the diagnosis or the type of treatment McCaskill will pursue. Yael T. Abouhalkah: Claire McCaskill has breast cancer and her critics embrace her -- really

Reaction to the illness was swift.

"Claire and I work together every day, and I certainly wish her and her family the very best as she deals with this difficult diagnosis," said Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri in a statement. "I will step in in any way I can to help while she seeks treatment, and hope she makes a speedy recovery."

Other colleagues joined in. "Praying for a quick and speedy recovery for @clairecmc" said a tweet from Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican of South Carolina.

Minnie was something wasn’t she!

I used to put that album on and turn it up for people that had never heard her and they would be blown away when she went to those triple octaves — wow.

Yeah really. People on this forum just don't get it. It isn't a gentile debate on which party is better for the country. That era is long gone, maybe with Truman. This is a war for everything you have. On one side are the statists (otherwise known as Democrats and their base) who want to take your savings, your God given freedoms, your health, and even who you associate with. They also want to destroy capitalism, individual incentive, and your ability to pull yourself above the poverty level.

On the other are those who feel that individual freedom and responsibility - the values that made our country great - still are the best things the world has ever seen (Some republicans are on this side, some not. There are no democrats on this side).

This is a war and the enemy is ruthless and relentless. They're never satisfied; every tax increase is considered just a stopgap until the next tax increase. Every new restriction on your God given rights is just a "good first step", every new regulation is just the base on which to add more stifling regulations, and of course your money is what they have their greedy eyes on to buy more votes to more firmly entrench them selves in power.

These people are the enemy. They are more dangerous than ISIS, the Taliban and al quaeda combined, And you think you should be sympathetic when one of them gets sick.

Sorry good buddy, when someone is out to destroy everything I believe in and everything I have and everything I stand for I can't work up much sympathy for them under any circumstances.

Shall we send her to a VA hospital for some of the same stirling care our wounded veterans get? All she did was get elected to the Senate in place of her deceased husband, because widow. And narrative.

I doubt many Americans in 1943 prayed for the speedy recovery of sick Japanese troops.

I will make one last attempt to bring your out of your fog of sanctimonious sympathy for the enemy - Doomed attempt I'm sure, but here goes.

Go back in time to 1969 - 70. Move in space to Viet Nam. Put on the uniform of a us combat infantryman and join a patrol. Your job is to be part of an ambush along a know supply route. You set up and wait. And sure enough here come a contingent of NVA. At the command you fire, and they fire back. You think you hit one. (multiple choice) Your first thought is

  1. I hope I killed that m*****f****r
  2. I hope I just scared him
  3. I hope I just wounded him slightly and he'll make a speedy recovery
I'm inferring from your posts that You'd pick #3. I'd pick #1, but you probably guessed that

If you still don't get it maybe you should get a bumper sticker that says "coexist"

Wrong- that bitch was Jean Carnahan.

Claire divorced her first husband in 1995 and he was murdered in 2005. Remains unsolved.

Her second husband owns nursing homes and there was some question about donations and other things.

There was also tax issues and the usage of a plane owned by them.

Yeah, you're right. But she's still the one who was pushing for the kangaroo courts for men accused of sexual harassment / "assault" on college campuses...along with Rubio, btw.
