Cruz Campaign Apologizes to Marco Rubio for Spreading False Bible Story
Breitbart ^ | 2/22/2016 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 02/22/2016 6:02:54 AM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Rick Tyler, the Senior Communications Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), issued a public apology after spreading a false story reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) made a nasty comment to a Cruz staffer about the Bible.

"I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today," Tyler wrote on Facebook after sharing the false story online. "The story misquoted a remark the Senator made to the staffer. I assumed wrongly that the story was correct."

The false report indicated that Rubio said that there were "not many answers" in the Bible -- when in fact, Rubio commented that "all the answers" were in the book of scripture.

Tyler indicated that he communicated with the Cruz staffer in the video, who explained that Rubio had made a "friendly and appropriate remark" about the Bible.

"Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct," Tyler wrote. "I've deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake."

>>We'll I get it now.

Look closer.

Observe the fact that the video in question here was produced by a bunch of knuckleheaded college "journalists" who were evidently on a field trip for their "paper" - and that the original misquoted caption in the video was speculatively targeted BY THEM at CRUZ:

"Wish we knew what book he was reading (perhaps Ted Cruz's A Time for Truth?) Comment below and take a guess at what you think he was reading"

The right thing to do would be 1) Cruz apologize for all the OTHER dirty tricks and lies, and 2) pull out of the race and promise to not again run for Republican elected office. He deserves the Nixon treatment x2.

This is the blog under the purview of the college “journalists” responsible for the video and its [false] caption:

Who is the candidate on supportive display there?

Tyler "assumed" Rubio or any serious candidate would actually verbalize that whether or not it was even in their heart? No one is that stupid. Tyler KNEW you don't get within a few elections of the presidency by being stupid.

Cruz had to have known and approved, so he, too, assumed it was true? No, I don't think so. Cruz isn't dumb. He knew Rubio didn't and wouldn't say that. But Cruz greenlighted running with what he knew was a lie. (Not the first time, of course)

IF it did not get greenlighted specifically by Cruz, it’s a CULTURE of lying and dirty tricks that Cruz has created that made Tyler think this was ok, just standard operating procedure. I don’t know which is worse-—the former or the latter.

We may oppose Rubio, and in my case have a very low opinion of him, but to seriously believe or think that others would believe he said that is insane.

It’s been out of control from the beginning. The photoshopped phony tweet broadcast by Cruz wing-man Beck should have tipped everyone off to the tone of this bunch and to the levels they would stoop to. And this was BECK, not some staffer whose name would not be known by anyone.

LOL. Blame the victim.

(And lie doing it.)

That reminds me of the rapist in the news recently whose defense was that he accidentally slipped and "fell" on his victim.

Yep. Cruz knew and knows exactly what was going on in his campaign.

Do you realize (or care) that the college kids who shot/(mis)CAPTIONED/and posted the video originally speculuatively directed the "not many answers in there" misquote at CRUZ?

>> Cruz knew

How'bout you walk us through exactly how Ted Cruz knew a bunch of college kids on a field trip for their "paper" were going to show up, make this video, and then falsely caption it to poke fun at CRUZ?

"Wish we knew what book he was reading (perhaps Ted Cruz's A Time for Truth?) Comment below and take a guess at what you think he was reading"

Innocent until proven guilty ring any bells "captain"?

With the reasoning skills your posts put on display, I hope you're not in command of anything more critical than a latrine.

Thank you, RC. I've done a ton of research (on Cruz's previous business dealings, dealings and associates of his wife, as well as Ted's donors and the careers of him and Heidi). It all adds up to a ton of info. Cruzers refuse to review any of it. I get frustrated and want to just forget it and not waste time mentioning it on FR. Talk about drinking the kook-aid [sic]. Cruz is a fraud. Cruz and his wife are the insider's insiders. The perfect New World Order couple. Even some Trump people here refuse to look at the reality that's buried and requires some digging. Admittedly, it requires many hours of research online, and unlike others I happen to be in a position to have those hours.

Personally, I refuse to form an opinion on less than complete information and, though virtually always disappointed, I rather idealistically expect that from others expressing opinions.

From the Editor: Timeline of our Cruz-Rubio reporting

By LAUREN FEINER ãƒ» 1 hour ago

Sunday, Feb. 21, afternoon: While driving back to Philadelphia, we begin receiving comments on Twitter and the post itself about the contents of the video. Several people question whether Rubio said “not” or “got” before “many answers in there,” referring to the book. Later, some suggest maybe he is saying “every answer’s in there.” We examine the video, breaking down the audio to the very syllable at the beginning of the sentence. We continued to believe we heard an “N” sound.
...

Monday, Feb. 22, 2:13 a.m.: Tyler sends an email to the Daily Pennsylvanian editor who bylined the post, saying, "Since this story has been so thoroughly discredited, shouldn't you make a correction? Rubio did not say in the video, ‘Not many answer it it [sic].’ According to our staffer who Rubio spoke to, he said that ‘there are a lot of answers in that book.’"]
http://www.thedp.com/article/2016/02/from-the-editor-timeline-of-cruz-rubio-reporting

So the college kids who originated this Cluster Frack can't even tell the difference between "GOT" and "NOT" - but you're going to run with the bait and, without proof, say "CRUZ KNEW" anyhow.  Uhuh.

Latrine duty FOR YOU!

“>>Cruz knew.

Prove it.”

Cruz knew because Daddy Cruz was one of two Cruz campaign people that heard Rubio’s actual comment.

But Tyler ignored that info and pushed a video and transcript that they knew was false.

So they circulated a slander of a man’s Christian faith, when they knew it was a slander.

Charming.
