She seems in much better spirits today. I just let the water out of the walk-in tub and she will call me when she is dry and dressed and ready to transfer back to her chair. The whole bath has gone really smoothly so far.

I’ve shown her how to close and open the drain, but she doesn’t remember. And she hasn’t got the oomph to seal and unseal the door. It works like you see on Navy ships when they seal the doors.

It takes about 7 minutes to fill about 2/3 of the way before the hot water runs out. We have the 50 gallon water heater required, but it won’t fill all the way. That’s on my list, too....one of those new fangled hot water on demand thingys. It wouldn’t have to be big as only the walk-in takes extra water. I love it because it has both water and air jets. I have to wait 10-15 minutes before I can get more hot water, enough to cover the jets, and then I can just sit and enjoy the whirlpool effect.

Then about 2 1/2 minutes to drain.

Glad to hear the day’s gone pretty well. It’s been a rough couple of days.

I’ve wanted one of those water heaters you’re looking to get for a long time. They seem like a good idea because they only heat when the water’s running. And you don’t run out!

Water jets sound very appealing at the moment. Been one of those crummy days for my back and a water massage would be divine. aaaaaaah
